LOVE-CHEAT rocker Ronnie Wood grasps the hand of his young girlfriend in an attempt to shake off rumours of a split.
But we can reveal the very public display of affection is just papering over the cracks.
Because the Rolling Stones guitarist has confided to friends that his relationship with the girl 42 years his junior is DOOMED. We can also reveal Ronnie:
- MOANED in an emotional phone call to dumped wife Jo about his "life of hell" with 20-year-old Ekaterina Ivanova.
- WHINED to pals that ditching his missus for "Katia" is the biggest mistake of his life.
- FACES heartbreak when he finds out, in the words of his band's hit, you can't always get what you want - because friends have confirmed Jo will NEVER take him back.
During his stroll with Katia in Esher, Surrey, on Friday Ronnie, 62, insisted: "There's a load of untruths. But we're getting on great." See video of their "love-in" at notw.co.uk.
He was speaking days after five police officers were called to the couple's £5million rented home in north London when neighbours reported a furious row. It is claimed Katia threatened suicide after discovering Ronnie had arranged a dinner date with his ex, who is starring in hit BBC show Strictly Come Dancing.
Tearful Katia was heard yelling an, "It's me or her," ultimatum in a bid to keep Ronnie from contact with Jo.
But he refused to shut out his model wife after months of carefully getting back on talking terms with his family.
His refusal to follow her demands led Katia to threaten to kill herself.
A source close to Ronnie said: "Kat blew her top about his closeness again with Jo. She is insecure and scared that Ronnie is trying to win back his wife."
Jo called Ronnie after hearing about the bust-up. A pal of the rocker told us: "Jo made the first move and called him to make sure he was all right.
"But then Ronnie called Jo behind Katia's back. He poured his heart out about his hell living with a woman young enough to be his granddaughter.
"He told Jo that he and Katia row a lot. He says the reason they row is the 42-year age gap, which is really starting to take its toll.

"There's no fool like an old fool - and Ronnie is realising that. He knows he has made a terrible mistake and thrown away his 24-year marriage for nothing.
"Ronnie says his relationship with Katia is hanging by a thread. They haven't officially broken up yet but it's now a question of when they'll split, not if."
And last night Katia looked glum as the pair set off for a night out with snooker legend Jimmy White and pals at Wisley Golf Club, Surrey.
Ronnie is so desperate to repair his relationships with Jo, 54, and their grown-up children that he has rented a secret flat just for himself close to his old marital home in Richmond Hill, Surrey.
But a source told us: "Jo would never go back to Ronnie. Since the break-up she has found a whole new lease of life."
And last week Jo told the News of the World: "I still care for him. But would I ever take him back? No."
Ronnie ran off with Katia last July in an alcohol-fuelled sex romp in Ireland. He and Jo are in divorce negotiations, with her set to get half his reputed £23million fortune.

Well said Lorna. "This is what rock stars are supposed to do, no use playing songs about Honky Tonk Women etc. and then living the life of a vicar. Got to walk it like you talk it!". It seems to that me some people are bitter while Ronnie keeps smiling, rocking, painting, loving, etc.

Jo is well shut of him, she is a very attractive woman, and with half Ronnie's money, she can live the rest of her life in luxury.
But she too must be wary of young gold digging men.

I feel quite sorry for him. Clearly he made a mistake and now there's no going back. I hope he can somehow find a way forward. Pouring scorn on someone who's already down is just cruel. Good on Jo to live her life and doing what SHE wants now.

That dirty old man doesn't how lucky he is as due to his age most 30 some thing weman would not touch him. But he got extremely lucky and got a pretty 20 year old who has no baggage.
His wife still looks very pretty and she still cares for him, his 20 year old mistress looks hot and she loves him, yet he whinges and moans about having problems with weman.
What planet is he on, I know fancy a swap as I'd love to have his problems with weman, I'd be on cloud 9 forever.
