We caught the ex-RBS chief sneaking back to London for a SEVEN-HOUR meeting in the City - fuelling speculation he may be taking up a new post.
Suited Fred The Shred - whose bungling leadership caused a £20 billion government bailout last year - travelled FIRST CLASS by train into London after flying from Edinburgh to Stansted on Wednesday.
He visited Exchange House in the City, home to high-flying finance and law firms and, ironically, near his old RBS office.
It's the first time he's been spotted in the City since fleeing after the RBS shambles. After the meeting he insisted: "It's not to do with any new job."
Let's hope he's right.

After the utter mess he made of RBS and the huge pension he got away with, he should not be allowed near a calculator let alone any financial firm.
Any CEO and HR manager with a brain cell can see this.
But if you have friends in high places, you could be biggest loser in the world but you could still get back in.
Fred has nice pension he should go and enjoy it.
