Im an immigrant and came here 10 years ago on a highly skilled immigrant visa, i am highly Educated , have put a great deal in the economy of Britain and enjoy my life here despite of the likes of B.N.P . In all honesty, the BNP are nothing more than sub-human filth. They are just vile, despicable, depraved and utterly contemptable specks of dirt. That's all they are and all they will ever be.

One of the things, although far from the only thing, that makes them so utterly and totally disgusting is their mindless, ignorant and niave insistence that everyone who opposes them is a communist. I'm not a communist. I have have been and I never will be a communist. It's just that I, along with the vastly overwhelming majority of British people of all colours, find this sick, twisted, racist, homophobic "party" to be beneath contempt.

Lizzie brings up the second world war. Well, my grandfather fought in the second world war to protect us from nazi scum just like the BNP. If you support the BNP, you are not a "patriot" by any manner of means. Rather, you are a traitor to this country and everything it stands for. Maybe if the mainstream parties woke up to the fact that our NHS, Housing, Transport System, Benifit System, Dentists, Doctors and Jobs are stretched to almost breaking point, people wouldn't vote for this party. Maybe immigration has gone too far. But it is in no way ok to spout this bile that they do. Yes they are a legal British political party, but i would ask you all to go out and vote for the party of your choice. If they then gain seats we can't moan about it. These parties have been around for years. They have also had support from some in power who wish to use them to set up a right wing govt. Remember it was the traditional "conservatives" who made Hitler chancellor in 1933. They thought they could control him! They were soon disabused of that.

The mainstream parties esp the Tories could be sucked into this, remember Powell, and a couple of other MPs in the sixties, who when the tories were sliding in the polls kicked in with similar racist policies.

Am I a communist or a new Labour supporter, not at all as we can all see where New Labour has gotten us over thet last few years.

The BNP is not a terrorist organisation, it is a political party and as such free people should have the right if they so wish to support them. If you do not like it, vote the political parties in to defeat them at elections. Stop your bleating about how bad they are and make sure the mainstream political parties answer the voter's concerns so the voters do not vote BNP.

Banning the BNP from standing makes you as much bigots as the BNP themselves. Rioting to stop the camp makes you just as bad as the Nazi thugs you are trying to stop.

The BNP are nasty, but the other parties have ignored evidence that Britain is going to end up with 70 million people in the not to distant future. The House of Lords Report on the Economic effects of immigration also shows that the much touted economic benefits are in fact marginal.

Ultimately, the existence of different average traits and abilities also leads to inequalities which make multi-cultural societies unstable. The avoidance of inconvenient facts about this has lead to misguided policies.

he Union Jack is a symbol all Brits should be proud of, but it seems the flag is fast becoming an emblem of racism in the UK. An example being it's use by the far right BNP party. The BNP claims to promote patriarchy of UK citizens whilst having underlying racist ideals.

It always makes me laugh at the completely incorrect 'facts' that BNP supporters always use to support their antiquated views. Anyone with Google can usually prove them wrong.

That they've gained two European seats means that a couple of particularly nasty specimens are now drawing a generous salary and expenses on our tax money, and they don't deserve it. Sue brings up several interesting issues. 'Any lorry driver living in England right now knows that East Europeans are taking jobs from under them.' This is factually incorrect. My father, born in England to West European parents, who has been lorry driving for over 30 years in the UK, Europe, inc E.Europe and the Middle East vouches for this.
'English people pay for university places.' We do. International students pay up to five times more and have no recourse to public funds to help them with this, thus helping subside places for UK students.
'English people pay for prescriptions, English people pay for dental check ups and eye care....' Sue goes on to make the point that these things are not paid for by Welsh/Scottish voters. She is largely correct but fails to connect this in any way with issues such as immigration/racism.
The point is that people are clearly upset about the way that things are going in this country, especially during a time of recession, and feel that the government is not listening to them. Some people then end up turning to the BNP/far right for answers. They don't have the answers. They have lies and propanda and emotional blackmail and know what buttons to push to make people angry. They then direct that anger towards scapegoats in the community. The recession is global and not caused by immigration/black people living next door to you! We can and will work our way out of it, together.

I agree that it was unnecessary to use the word 'pagan' in the article as a negative. I find it interesting, however, that you make a point of not being a skin head, though. Well there is a contradiction. If they really believed in the soul of any person, white or of colour, then they would have to believe in it's value to a god who created it. And that should be enough to turn them from this disgusting behaviour.

I'm so ashamed to say I was born an raised only a few miles from where all this took place. My husband (who is Pakistani) has visited my home village numeous times and loves it there so much we started looking seriously at moving back... however now we feel too scared to move back to the place I consider "home".

To Peter the American: The US may well have a black president (about time too!!!) but the US also has the KKK. Racism is prevelant in US politics, one only had to see the run up to the Presidential elections to realise that. Just because the UK has yet to elect a non-white prime minister doesn't mean the country is inherently racist. The US is yet to have a female president so perhaps they are years behind us in eleminating sexism in politics?

In the same way that these ignorant, uneducated low-lives are insinuating that anyone 'not white' is a criminal; many people on this message board are tarring the rest of Britain with their stupidity. I'm still proud to be British; we live in a wonderful country. Why on Earth would you assume that it's just British people who are capable of being so disgraceful?

Unfortunately there are always going to be people in this world who are intolerable of other races. As long as there are also people who can see that behaviour like this should not go unpunished, then I don't think we should be worrying about any sort of 'uprising' any time soon.

On the other side of the coin, i'd also like to say that although there are immigrants who come to this country with the whole-hearted intention of finding a house, a job and living their lives as English/British citizens, there are MANY who come here to leech off of the tax-payer. No other country in the world uses the system we do, and it should be abolished. I've had a job since I was 16 - and White, Black, or Asian people who feel comfortable with not working to live disgust me.

Personally speaking, people of my Grandad's generation that fought against facism and racism have generally over the years been treated appallingly, an awful lot that I speak too always say that they will vote BNP. Who am I or any other liberal do gooding yoghurt knitter to question these brave people that gave their all and lost friends and family for our 'democracy' today. I never read the News of the World and was only directed here by a facebook link.

If people want to vote for these people then fair enough I say. Until the main parties become far more oprganised and sort out this country and actually listen to the people, then these types of party will always flourish during difficult times.

Coming from Derbyshire, I can say I have personally witnessed lots of this kind of small-minded ignorance all of my life. The BNP may be in the process of trying to change its image to a non-racist party to gain credence from outside, but the supporters and sympathisers of it are very racist indeed. Visit any pub in any town or village in Amber Valley and hear it for yourself. However don't expect it to be a pleasant experience if you're not white!
I read a few comments above by people saying the golly incident was staged by left-wingers. How ridiculous! That festival would have been full of similar incidents. Why else hold a closed event with no journalists allowed inside?
Thankfully, popular culture still deems it uncool to vote and the majority of the ignorant, uneducated people within the lower working class (and welfare class) don't bother. Let's hope it doesn't become fashionable.

I usually don't generalise but in this instance I would say all BNP supporters are racist. What other values do they stand for except to preach hate. Most of them are gullible and smack of academic immaturity so find it easy to blame immigrants for their lack of attempt to be employed. I'm from the US and to think that we have a Black president whilst parties like the BNP have seats in parliament demonstrates what a long way the UK has it bridging the racial divide. The real irony of this entire issue is the overwhelming sense of hypocrisy surrounding the comments being written in response to the report. Today in modern Britain, this kind of behaviour is obviously unacceptable, no one can rightfully argue that preaching such hate is totally morally justifiable, but free speech is such a precious liberty. Problem is, people read these articles and dismiss the actions of these individuals as evil and disgusting, regardless of whether these few misguided BNP supporters represent the position of the political party itself. It casts a poor reflection on its political integrity, of course, but it is so painfully socially cliché to dismiss these views at face value. Assuming all BNP members spout the same bile and share the same warped behaviour is essentially no different to how some misguided BNP members assume all black people are more likely to commit crimes. Intolerance begets intolerance, and all I see is a few too many middle class white people, feeling embarrassed by association, ascending their moral high horse to condemn, while in reality what they need to do first and foremost, is understand. Having a target to aim the swaggering finger of blame is mighty convenient right about now, but how can such a mentality offer any solutions? Conjure up a different shade of hate to combat the darker intentions of those who preached hate to begin with? That eye for an eye approach puts you barely several paces behind the political barbarians.

Please can all posters read the Nuj's policy on reporting on "far right" parties before making future comments.I attended this year's event, i met some lovely people including 2 women in particular raising hundreds of pounds which will go directly to our troops at Selly Oak hospital.I do not condone the actions of the people involved in this story but would quite obviously point out that this isn't being endorsed by the party.Please google liars,buggers and thieves and then decide to tar a whole party on the actions of a few idiots.

I am a single mum of three boys living in the city of derby, i actually live next door to so called BNP supporters!!!!!!! they have all the posters in their windows,they have even spray painted their bins with VOTE BNP! they feel the need to brag openly on their garden about when they are going to their next BNP festival !!!!!! yet when i am driving of to work in a morning whilst they sit at home claiming to be disabled, i smile to myself,i have three well educated mixed race children,we go on nice holidays and generally live life to the full,they on the other hand sit at home smoking weed all day,arguing and shouting,then the police arrive as he is hitting her again!! so you people enjoy your scummy gatherings,the rest of us good people are enjoying life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely unbelievable - yet with the government being so bent themselves, it will not take long before the BNP actually have more seats and more voices to be heard.

This is clearly a setup by the lefties. I was there and the festival was finished by 6pm. The video was filmed after dark. Also they can not be blamed for a groups own private fires on a different field. Besides the reporter was undercover witch in itsself sounds like a set up.

Sick, I'm 12 and I would never put a Golly in a fire, i wouldnt even think of being racist. My step uncle has a black girlfriend and she's lovely. I cant believe a twelve year old girl, my age would do that. But we can't ban that. If that's what they believe in, that's what they believe in. Yes, immigration should be strictly controlled, those desperately in need should be offered help, along with other countries, not just the UK.

Those who come here with skills, talents, qualifications and experience not readily available in the UK should be welcomed and made use of.

Those who come to live off socials benefits with no intention of ever earning and learning should not be allowed entry. Or those who persistently commit crimes, etc, should be jailed then immediately deported.

The little girl with the golly doll, if she carries on like that she'll have much more to fear than just non-white skinned people, but her stupid parents don't realise that.
