Stacey Furneaux - just 16 when her love for 64-year-old Brian Williams hit the headlines - recalled her horror the first time she saw him remove his false teeth. She said: "I gasped. There was no denying his age when he took his false teeth out. People really look old without their teeth in, don't they?"
And the two quickly found a yawning gap between their tastes in everything.
Stacey, now 22, talking for the first time since the split, said: "All he liked on TV was Heartbeat and Taggart.
"When I suggested EastEnders he told me it was rubbish. We spent most nights with him lying on the sofa watching his programme and me in the kitchen watching mine.
"He made sure everything was to hand - the remote, his mug, his fags, his sweets, his dictionary for the crossword.Other times I'd be upstairs listening to my dance music, he'd be downstairs listening to Russell Watson."
The couple could not even agree on what to EAT. Stacey, who met the retired pub boss through her friendship with his daughter Tara in Wrexham, said: "I wanted to eat salad but everything he cooked was old-fashioned and had a thick pastry top."
Brian did not always agree with Stacey's dress sense either. She recalled: "I came downstairs one night with a short skirt on. He said to get back to the bedroom and change. We used to go out once a week. I'd go clubbing and he'd go down the Legion for a pint."
One time Stacey dragged Brian along to see action movie Terminator 3. She said: "I loved it but he went on and on about how noisy it was and how his legs ached."
Stacey, who lost her virginity to Brian, added: "We even tried for a baby. But as time went on we stopped being lovers."
They had run off to Gretna Green to wed when she was 17 to escape her parents' disapproval. She is now back with mum Joanne and step-dad Dave, both 38, and seeking a divorce.
Joanne said: "It's been hard but I no longer have to see my beautiful daughter holding hands with someone old enough to be grandad."

I dont know where everyone gets the idea from that he was a millionaire, he was a pensioner on benefits and has been for many years and he lives on a council estate.

Silly little immature girl. Try listening to your parents in future they were against this marriage for a reason and now they have been proved right.
I hope you have learnt your lesson. Although I think it might take a little longer for it all to sink in properly.
