WAYNE Rooney has revealed he might have joined the priesthood had he not made it as a footballer.

The 23-year-old England player - and ex school dunce - said the only thing he liked at school was religious studies.

Speaking at the launch of a campaign sponsored by Coke Zero to find Britain's best young street footballer the Manchester United striker said "I haven't a clue what else I would have done. I wasn't really the best in school."

When pressed to name another profession, rather than naming one of the usual suspects, like plumbing, or building, he stunned with: "I always enjoyed RE (religious education), so maybe a priest."

Did anyone mention that priests shouldn't go to brothels or swear their heads off...hmm looks like you made the right career choice, love!
