Judge ruled on vice cases.. but paid for sex in secret
A SENIOR married judge had a secret nine-month fling with a £250-a-night RENT BOY, the News of the World can reveal.
Judge Gerald Price QC, 60, was so besotted with 25-year-old Christopher Williams he set him up with a FLAT, paid him a monthly ALLOWANCE and let him sit on the bench in court as he presided over TRIALS.
Williams said: "His business is truth but he's been living a lie."
The judge is under investigation by The Ministry of Justice today after the News of the World discovered he risked his marriage and his career for a passionate affair with the male prostitute.
Judge Price grew so obsessed with the rent boy 35 years his junior that he let him sit next to him in COURT while he jailed criminals.
Price gave 25-year-old Christopher Williams unfettered access to three Crown Courts - an abuse of power that will horrify the authorities. The judge also used his experience to help Williams beat a public order rap - at the same time as paying him a monthly £420 for what he called a sex "season ticket".
Williams even got to see sensitive confidential trial papers and defendants' criminal records.
Now the £129,000-a-year lawyer and father-of-two faces a charge sheet of his own as we detail the affair conducted behind the back of his trusting wife, revealing shocking lapses of judgement in which he:
- PAID for gay sex in a hotel despite ruling on VICE cases.
- RENTED two flats for Williams as love nests for their secret fling.
- EXPOSED himself to the threat of blackmail.
- PRETENDED to court officials that Williams was a law student.
- TOOK Williams away on official business, staying in hotel rooms.
- PROPOSED on one knee to the rent boy, vowing to leave his wife.
Last night in an exclusive interview gay escort Williams said: "What Gerald did was dangerous. His business was truth but he lived a lie. He was at real risk of being blackmailed. Imagine the power a criminal could wield over a judge with info like this."

Price is a senior circuit judge who has sat for nine years in Swansea, Cardiff and Carmarthen, South Wales, ruling on hundreds of cases.
His conduct is in clear breach of The Guide To Judicial Conduct - the rule book for the judiciary. It states:
"It is necessary for the continuity of the system of law as we know it that there be standards of conduct, both in and out of court. . .
"A judge must accept personal restrictions that might be viewed as burdensome by the ordinary citizen and should do so freely and willingly. In particular, a judge shall conduct himself or herself in a way that is consistent with the dignity of the judicial office."
Judge Price's affair with Williams brings the judiciary into disrepute and is in contravention of the guide's sections covering impartiality, integrity and propriety.
We first informed Price of our investigation nine days ago. He now faces an inquiry by the Ministry of Justice complaints department but so far has not been suspended. Judge Price - who has stood unsuccessfully for Parliament as a Tory candidate in THREE general elections and has been an Anglican lay preacher since 1969 - first contacted Williams for sex through an escort website last September.
Williams said: "I had a random email from him. I replied and told him my fee was £80. Then we arranged to meet up.
"He picked me up at the train station in his convertible Volvo and we did the deal at the Days Inn hotel in the Sarn Park services on the M4. It was the day before his 60th birthday. He told me I was his birthday present to himself.
"At first he wanted to talk. Then we had sex. I didn't know he was a judge - just a married man who worked in Swansea. It ended with a 'thank you' and he dropped me off at Bridgend station."
Judge Price had called himself "Graham" but made his true identity clear to Williams at a second meeting four days later. This time it was at the judge's second home near Carmarthen, Dyfed. Williams said: "It was an overnight stay so it cost him £250. He always paid cash. His wife Theresa did operatics and those nights she'd stay at the family's main house in Cowbridge.
"The Carmarthen house is absolutely gorgeous, a half-a-mile drive down a dirt track. It's a magnificent big place with outbuildings and an old water mill.
"Things started with general chit chat, getting to know each other, and he admitted he was a judge. He was really worried and begged me not to tell anyone about us.
"We had an Indian which we picked up from Lampeter and drank lots of wine and vodka.

"Then we spent the night in the double bed in his adult son's room."
Next day Judge Price took the breathtaking risk of introducing Williams into the heart of his professional life at Carmarthen court. Williams said: "Security tried to stop me following Gerald in but he said, 'Oh no, he's with me' and I was escorted to the judges' chambers. That day I sat in the press gallery. But he was keen for me to get more involved."
Quickly the judge became infatuated with Williams, seeing him almost every day. "He'd come up after work and we'd go to a local pub in Merthyr Tydfil," recalled Williams. "No sex, just drinks.
"It was only sexual when he had a few hours free, once or twice a week." But soon the cost got too much for the judge. Williams said: "That's when he came up with the idea of a 'season ticket'. My response was 'Like a bus pass?' It ended up as a monthly allowance of £420 in cash."
Now the pair were firmly ensconced in each other's lives, the judge set about making Williams a regular face at court.
That was despite being known for ruling on vice cases, including an order to snatch every penny owned by brothel madam Julie Hyett - a policeman's wife - giving her a 15-month suspended jail term.
Williams told us: "I sat on the bench next to Gerald for at least five days in Cardiff, three in Swansea, and once in Carmarthen. Security knew who I was and I was never stopped or hindered. Gerald passed me off as a law student.
"I was also in his private chambers behind the courtroom. That's where I caught sight of a lot of court files and criminal records - stuff only the judge and counsel should see."
WRIT BY JUDGE: With kiss on bottom
Price was well aware of the risks he was taking by flaunting his lover so brazenly in court. Williams said: "We were having a drink with a gay barrister friend in February and he told Gerald that having me sat on the bench was a lapse in judgement and very unprofessional. He warned that serious questions could be asked."
In December the judge used his position to secure an apartment for trysts while he sat in Cardiff. "We used the title His Honour Judge Gerald Price just to help get the flat," said Williams. "A landlord is a lot more trusting then."
The judge was now regularly using the cover of official business to be with his young lover. Williams said: "He was on a sexual offences seminar at Warwick University in November and I went with him. We stayed at the Glebe Hotel for three nights and had sex every night.
"The next trip was to London in December. He was on the recruitment panel for the Ministry of Justice finding new judges.
"We stayed mainly at the Citadines Hotel on Northumberland Avenue near Trafalgar Square. He told me he'd claim the cost from the ministry. We travelled up on a Sunday evening and came back on a Friday afternoon. In the evenings we went to the theatre with seats booked in his name."
It was while returning from a London visit that Williams ran into trouble with British Transport Police, charged with a public order offence for being drunk on the train.
"The case was due to be heard at Cardiff but Gerald helped me get it sidelined," said Williams.
"He went through my statements and charge sheet marking important areas that could help my case. Then he photocopied passages from Stone's Justice Manual which showed the arguments I could use in defence. I was able to keep picking out points of law until it just disappeared."
Williams was eventually bound over to keep the peace for six months. Soon the judge abandoned the sex 'season ticket' in favour of financing Williams' lifestyle.
He took out a tenancy on a £550-a-month marina flat near Swansea courthouse so the pair could meet regularly for sex in the afternoons.
The landlords confirmed to us that Judge Price DID take the tenancy and that they had seen him at the flat with Williams. They claimed they are now chasing the lawyer for unpaid rent.
Judge Price also paid for Williams' mobile phone and food while giving him cash handouts and access to his personal credit card as perks.
So confident had Price become in his secret double life, he even introduced Williams to his 56-year-old wife Theresa at a rugby match.
Williams said: "She asked me if I had a girlfriend and I said I was single. She seemed nice and when it was time to go I kissed her on both cheeks. But Gerald later told me she'd guessed I was gay."
Judge Price even PROPOSED civil partnership to Williams after a lovers' tiff.
Williams said: "He got down on one knee and promised he'd leave his wife. I was just to bear with him while he sorted out their finances. I was quite shocked and said, 'Yes, but we'll see if you have the guts to leave her.' I really wanted him to do it. I had strong feelings for him."
And it was Judge Price's vow to leave his wife that brought the secret relationship to a head. Williams revealed: "Gerald and Theresa had a big argument and later I was with him in the pub.
"After a few pints I said to him, 'It's now or never - do it!' And he didn't. But when we got back to my flat I asked for his phone to phone my mother, then I actually phoned his wife and told her everything.
"I said, 'It's Chris, you met me at the rugby. Me and Gerald have been in a relationship since September.' And then I handed the phone to Gerald. To say he was shocked would be an understatement. He was mortified. He'd have been quite happy to lead his double life for the rest of his life without anyone knowing."
We have tried repeatedly to get Judge Price to account for his behaviour. He denies some of Williams' claims but won't volunteer details about their relationship. He feels our probe invades his privacy and, through his lawyers, insisted there is no public interest in our disclosures.
A Judicial Communications Office spokesman said: "Having been approached by the press, Judge Price has voluntarily provided a detailed account of the circumstances to the senior judiciary. The matter has been referred to the Office for Judicial Complaints to consider whether there has been a breach of discipline."

For William, this lack of professionalism, I think all rent boys and girls they should be trained not to expose their clients secrecy. My self I have nice boys like him but we respect each other and enjoy our relationships almost 3yrs now. To judge Price I am very symphacy with you, you get another boy who will love you forever!

Our MPs, such paragons of virtue, have often had rent boys, homosexual lovers, and similar dalliances in which the subjects of their trysts were given favours. Our enlightened MPs determined that such actions are strictly personal, and of no concern of any other person unless a crime had been committed. So why has this judge been singled out for attention? He has sat on vice cases, but have any of those cases ever been prejudiced? Of course not. Perhaps he made some understandably questionable life choices, but such are demonstrations of the fraility of humanity, not a cause for censure.

I personaly know judge prices wife and she is such a nice lady who will help anyone out, she doesnt deserve this her name being dragged through the dirt for her husband, plus there are plenty of other judges and people in high places doing exactly the same thing why pick on one? Williams is out to earn what he can from this, as if he didn't earn enough from selling himself.
I so hope Tess gets through this and people remember it's not her fault and leave her out of this.

He's a hypocrite, which I am sure will not come as any surprise. Not only that, but he *seriously* could have been compromised to the extent whereby his decisions could have been determined by others. He should resign!
Though he'll in all likelihood get away with it, the judiciary of this country don't like dismissing one of their own, kind of goes against the grain. They'll examine the case for 6 months delay any findings until they absolutely must deliver any by which time the Judge will possibly be given leave due to something like 'stress' for a little while, only to return and err carry on where he left off.

Judge Price obviously has homosexual tendencies but surely, sitting as a judge in the Crown Court, he would realise that paying a rent boy would leave him wide open to, amongst other things, blackmail? He must have got a huge kick out of allowing a rent boy to sit alongside him on the bench, posing as a law student. He really, seriously, has to go.

I think this boy became angry as the Judge was being a hypocrite by promising to marry him then not going through with telling his wife: the consequences now are much worse for the Judge AND his family in that the whole world knows about it now! I wonder if this was the first and only rent boy? I mean if the Judge has gay tendencies then how was he able to repress this?
With regards Williams I can only suggest that he must have let it all out in the press in full as someone else might get a story to the press first which might not be the correct version. With regard the Judiciary itself: many families out there lack confidence in them as Social Workers are taking their children away on false grounds and the Family Court Judges are rubber stamping this withut a shred of proof. So given his debacle going on in the Court system I would be inclined to sympathise more with Williams than the Judge.

I was genuinely stunned and shocked to read this.
I worked with Gerald Price QC when he was a barrister some 20 yrs ago. I always found him to be a very polite and pleasant man who was excellent as a barrister.I always had a lot of respect for him and considered him one of the best barristers on the Wales and Chester circuit. I left the legal arena many years ago very bitter and disillusioned. I thought I had seen and heard enough of the way the legal profession here in Wales behave.However I always held Gerald Price in high esteem and considered him a gentleman.
I find these revelation to be very sad that he could ruin not only his good standing but his marriage like this and in this dreadful manner. He was the very last person I would have expected to have been involved in such things.It shows a terrible weakness and seriously bad judgement on his part to become embroiled in such scandal.It also put him at serious risk of blackmail too. I feel deeply sorry for his wife and family they must be going through hell right now.
The fall of a good Judge and the downfall of a decent family man is not something I am happy to see. Now we have one less decent Judge the public can rely upon in our corrupt and inept legal system to see any semblence of justice being seen to be done.

It's very sad that the life of a good and fair judge is ruined for the sake of scandalous gossip. He should not cheat on his wife, but that has no bearing on his ability to sit as a Judge. I doubt that there would be the same level of outrage if he did this with a woman.
In court, HHJ Price QC waited to hear both sides of the story before passing judgement; isn't he entitled to this?

i would just like to post my comment on those calling mr williams trash as i can say i personally know him, and av done for many years. i can say he is not white trailer trash as many of u like to say.
and dont think its fair that u can comment if u dont know him i admit that his imagination does often run away with him but can say myself all that has been said is true. And if judgement is going to be passed, that i beleive as a friend of christopher mr price is not soley but hugely to blame in many ways has he had no quaims in paying for sex when married with children and carrying out his job as a QC. And lets not forget it was mr price who approached mr williams, so that asks the question how many more are goingto come out of the wood work??

I don't have a problem with the Judge having sex with the rent boy, but he should not have abused his standing to allow him in court and hence putting his career on the line. I feel sorry for the wife, she is the innocent one in all this and does not deserve to be treated like this.

I feel so sorry for the Judge and his family. He trusted this young man and this is how he is repaid. I think this shows the Judge has humanity and will help him deal with compassion in other cases in the future. He does not need to suffer furthur after the humiliation at the hands of this young man. It can't help this young man either. Will anyone else be able to trust him ? I don't think so.

lot people away for reading the transcripts he has broken security and privacy law which he maintains

I have read between the lines here and find that this story has been bown out of all proportion, there are no cases that have been compromised.
Are we to take these words of a paid prostitute against a professional Judge, I think not! I wonder if the Inland Revenue or Department for Work and Pensions will be looking into the funding of this scumbags life style, hope he has done nothing wrong.
This Judge has jailed many dangerous individules and has done a duty to King and Country.
His only mistake of having relationship problems.
When some little scumbag from the gutter, paid for a descriet service which he is in clear breach, i hope no other agency employs him.

It doesn't matter if the Judge is bi-sexual/gay. Open would have been better for his unsuspecting wife. But we are what we are and homophobia is vile as 'Mandy' will attest.BAD judgement taking him to work etc.,BAD judgement charging Ministry for hotel rooms or flat's.If it was his money he was spending,good luck to him,it's his personal life.HOWEVER HE SHOULD RESIGN AS A JUDGE FOR HIS HYPOCRISY IN SITTING IN JUDGEMENT ON OTHERS ENJOYING THEIR SEXUAL WHIMS.He should have deigned to stand down on such cases.And of course,especially as he is a lay Minister,of any denomination.It's not sad it's just plain stupid!

I think its unfair for anyone to be so judgmental about him with out hearing his side of the story. Perhaps he was having an affair with this young lad, and decided to end it, and this is the boys way of getting back at the judge. We don’t know for sure he has done anything wrong. Perhaps people should think about the old “let he is who is without sin cast the first stone”

Sad story! A cheap, ugly white-trash rentboy meets Judge and thinks he can now climb up the social ladder. When he realizes that Judge will not leave wife he decides to destroy everyone’s life. Everyone is a loser in this story: The judge, his poor wife with family, and the lower class rentboy who pretty soon will get even fatter and uglier and will very quickly go back where he came from to collect social welfare again. Sad story, really!
And by the way, quality has its price and that price is not at £250 the night.

I know Gerald Price. He is a good and honourable man, committed to the law and committed to his family. If these allegations are true he has made a terrible mistake and will pay for the rest of his life - because nothing is more valuable than your good name. Please, leave him and his family alone!

I'm afraid this isthe fault of society, for forcing all men to try and be straight to fit society's 'standards'. Then society tries to act shocked and enraged when it comes out in the wash. If you allowed people to be what they are free from ridicule, persecution and fear then we wouldn't have these problems would we.

The only thing that I can't really understand is WHY anyone would pay for sex with the rent 'boy', who is as ugly on the inside as he is on the outside. Bad enough that he got the amount of money for sex, but to then lower himself even further into the gutter and sell the story, shows the REAL person . You should be ashamed of yourself. The gay community struggle enough in Britain without the likes of him, making out that gay men cannot be trusted.

1. I pay his salary.
2. I pay for the courts his lover sat in.
3. He judges cases in the very law that he violates and that he expects me to abide by.
He has lied, cheated and failed in his duty to us the public. Of course it's in our public interest, it simply couldn't be any otherwise.

I've always had my doubts about some of these judges that preside over serious, especially sexual offences, and give such unduly lenient sentences that fuel public critiscism and outrage.
I wonder at the private shenanigans of these people - not as fully engaged in the real world as most of us, and in positions of power, have their decisions coloured towards sympathy from their own closet activities.

This is the sort of person you could have presiding over your trial with no jury. A prime case showing how Government could lean on him to produce a required verdict or criminals could blackmail him to do the opposite. It's easier to nobble a single judge than a whole jury. This country gets worse by the day.

What a mean young man to sell his story to the newspaper. Yes the judge acted unprofessionally and will surely pay the price for allowing this guy into court etc, but as for everything else, what an awful situation to go through. The man was obviously in love and struggling with his situation. I think it's the young guy who is more disgusting than the judge for kissing and telling.

Whilst I find it quite sad that Judge Price has had to hide his secret identity, one can understand why he eventually led a double life, especially as when he grew up, homosexuality was very taboo. I still feel however, that he was very hypocritical in his actions and very unprofessional - whether it was a man or a woman he was 'renting out' makes no odds - he still committed adultery and that is unacceptable and unfair on his loyal wife.

Typical Britsh ruling class hypocrisy, some poor devil will have to put up with his self loathing as he insists on self denial by continuing to judge others, with legal power.
Justice, New Labour style, he should already be suspended cos' there are so many grounds for appeal by all who have to face him in court whilst this hangs over his ability to make fair judgement on others misdemeanours or crimes.
Guess who will be paying for the lot as well, us?
