A poll of voters in crucial constuencies shows SEVEN ministers who have backed the PM will be kicked out by the electorate.
The exclusive News of the World ICM poll tested opinion in the 18 Parliamentary seats represented by the main members of the Cabinet, including Mr Brown's own backyard.
It is the first poll to show how voters will behave in a General Election against the backdrop of the expenses scandal, political in-fighting and a string of resignations.
And it reveals that previously loyal Labour supporters, in previously safe seats, want Brown OUT.
The swing of 12 per cent from Labour to the Tories will be enough to overturn majorities and unseat seven Cabinet Ministers, the same number Labour managed to kick out when they beat the Tories in 1997.
Those who will be out on their ears include Chancellor Alistair Darling, Justice Secretary Jack Straw, Work and Pensions Secretary John Denham, Olympics Minister Tessa Jowell and Scottish supremo Jim Murphy.

Two of the new recruits to the Cabinet appointed on Friday- Culture Secretary Ben Bradshaw and Chief Secretary to the Treasury Liam Byrne-will also be dumped.
And four of the Cabinet Ministers who resigned last week-Jacqui Smith, James Purnell, Geoff Hoon and John Hutton-will get the chop as constituency MPs too.
Most members of the Cabinet have safe seats, with majorities averaging 7,000. But our poll reveals they are now under intense pressure from their own powerbase to move against Gordon Brown.
It also shows almost three-quarters of Cabinet Ministers' voters, an overwhelming 74 per cent, believe it is now time for a change.
Most of those expressing an opinion-50 per cent of the voters- say they want their MP to tell Gordon Brown to stand down.
Less than half (46 per cent) of voters who backed Tony Blair in 2005 would support Gordon Brown in a General Election.
Nearly two-thirds, a huge 58 per cent, of the electorate in previously safe Labour seats, think Gordon Brown is doing a poor job.
Almost a third, 31 per cent, will not vote at all in a General Election because of their anger over the expenses revelations.
Today's poll also shows that support for the Tories in Cabinet members' own constituencies has shot up by 20 per cent since the 2005 election.

Conservative Leader David Cameron is now clearly heading for a massive landslide, with the most recent national poll showing he would sweep up 158 seats. Those polled by ICM said they believe Cameron has the best ideas for cleaning up the system.
Labour's vote has dropped by 17 per cent while the Lib Dems have managed to hold on to their support, falling by just one per cent. Support for minority parties has gone up nine per cent.
On Friday night Gordon Brown insisted he was staying on as Prime Minister, saying he was best qualified to sort out the political crisis.
The scale of the damage caused by the expenses scandal is clear, with a massive 82 per cent of people saying they want their local MP to stand down if he or she cheated the system over exes.
Little more than a quarter of those polled, 27 per cent, want their current MP to stand again - with 40 per cent demanding a new Labour candidate.
Only a third of voters are happy to wait until June next year for a chance to vote, which clearly shows Cameron's strategy of demanding an election now is paying off.
Labour's figure of 46 per cent of those who backed them in 2005 sticking with them compares to 51 per cent for the Lib Dems and 74 per cent for the Tories.
ICM interviewed a random sample of 1,248 adults aged 18 or over across the 18 constituencies represented by main Cabinet Ministers as at Wednesday last week.
Interviews were conducted by phone and the results have been weighted to the demographic profile of adults in those constituencies.
Another 245 interviews were done in Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath to allow analysis of the views of 301 voters in Gordon Brown's constituency.
ANOTHER poll has confirmed that Labour Party members no longer have confidence in Mr Brown's leadership.
In a damning verdict for Channel 4 News, most think he should step down before the next election-and more than one in five think he should go now.
Two-thirds believe he is unable to communicate his ideas effectively to the public and almost half think he is weak and indecisive.

The most amazing fact here, that you dont dwell on, is the fact that if it were a general election labour would win!

The present gov't is suffering for what all ministers have done and a recession which is worldwide.
What policies does Mr Cameron have to share with us all?? Mr Brown, in spite of the situation with his ministers still offers to carry on with the good work th\t Labour has done over the years.
Good luck Gordon!!!

Your poll suggests that current voting intentions for the main parties stands at - Lab:32 Con:27 Lib:18
You are also suggesting a landslide win for Cameron and the Tories! There's something wrong here!

Ironic Cameron wants an election NOW!.... No waiting, no waiting to see if Browns plan with the World Leaders to end this World recession comes to fruition, no we've got to Oust him!
Trouble is, as I keep saying Cameron seems too keen to get him out and himself IN to office - Perhaps some should ask: Why? Afterall, if the Conservatives have won like they claim to have done with such a large democratic margin, then why not wait, or is he afraid that some SECRETS may come out of his own?
Perhaps he's afraid the electorate might change their minds as soon as the recession peters out, of course following the Conservative method of 'do nothing, wait and see' we would all be destitute by now watching some one with a tax heaven account cleaning up and grabbing what they could whilst everyone else counted the cost. It's true however, despite everyones downer on Brown he does actually seem to have a plan, Cameron and Osborne never have any ideas.... I say keep Brown, have an election in 18 months after the dust has settled. We'll see whose right then one way or another.
As I said it's not a popular view, but it's my own.
As for the Rats who jumped ship, they showed that they were only in it for themselves! They should have stuck around and done the jobs for which they are paid!

the labour govenment is inploding Gordon Brown is no Prime minister. That was a done deal with Blair, the cabinet are a bunch of corrupt prima donnas. no decent policies no vision just self preservation, milking the system with crazy expence claims. This government is on borrowed time, but the thought of a tory government getting in with a big overall majority terrifies me. remember the Thatcher years, remember the recession of the 80s the early 90s unemployment hitting 5million and John Major!,Cammeron and his chums have no policies no answer. That guy is just jumping on the band wagon of the situation and monopolising his popularity through it, god help this nation if that happens.

What is needed is for Simon Cowell to tell Gordon Brown that he simply does not have the X factor. On the other hand do we really want Lord Snooty and his Pals? What a mess.

I am worried about our Defence, NHS, Social services etc in this country that are being affected by the greatest theft in history and Im not talking about the expenses scandal. I am talking about a far greater longstanding crisis that the media never discuss. As the saying goes, we strain at gnats but swallow camels whole.
According to Mr Cameron, Mr Brown is forcing the Irish to have a second referendum by October without giving the British people even one referendum. If they vote for ratification then we are sold into the corrupt EU and 180,000 laws and where according to the EUs own Auditors up to 95% of the budget amounting to trillions over 14 years paid in by all 27 member states is unaccounted for/missing. The British contribution is £40 million a day = £14 Billion a year = £190 billion over 14 years. This MPs scandal has been hidden this Gorilla in the room. This concerns the public as this type of theft affects our taxes, our services NHS because it causes a hole in our budget.
Phone your MP and demand an election & referendum

To all our troops wherever you are - dont despair, millions of us appreciate how you must feel about the situation in our so called Parliament. Those of us down here without a trough to put our snouts in are with you all the way. We care about you and appreciate more than words can express everything you do.
If ever you want to start a revolution, we might be in our sixties, but my wife and I will be on the barricades with you in defence of Queen and our glorious Country.
Our love and best wishes to you all, take care.
David and Veronica.

I knew Gordon Brown's is on his way out, the minute he brought Glenys Kinnock and Alan Sugar into his team, he may as well bring Tony Blair back. With Blair, Kinnock and Sugar that would be scrapping the barrel. For Mr Brown to send Alan Johnson to the Home Office is the final nail in Gordon's coffin. I have worked in the NHS for 30 years and Johnson is the worst Health Secretary we have had.
I am delighted Hazel (the poison dwarf) Blears and Jacqui Smith have gone but to lose Caroline Flint and James Purrnell is pure neglect on Gordons part. I am sorry Mr Brown you have done nothing to improve this country and you will have to go.
By David . Posted June 7 2009 at 7:59 AM.
Yup,Brown is finished, well,he never really got started did he.
He made me laugh when he was stolling with Obama, acting (trying to) casual, pointing up in the air and pretending to be in control.
Why would anyone who is so self conscious want to strut the worlds stage.
Beans on toast,very soon now.
Especially in view of the fact that he,single handedly, has impoverished all British pensioners with his £5 billion raid on pension pots.

THE FENCEPOST TORTOISE!!!
While stitching up the hand of a 75 year old Devon farmer,
who cut it on a gate while working cattle,
the rural doctor struck up a conversation with the old man.
Eventually the topic got around to Gordon Brown and his appointment
as Prime Minister.
"Well, you know," drawled the old farmer,
"this Brown fellow is what they call a "fencepost tortoise".
Not being familiar with the term the doctor asked him what a
"fencepost tortoise" was.
The old farmer said, "When you're driving along a country road and
you come across a fence post with a tortoise balanced on top - that'
s called a fencepost tortoise."
The old farmer saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face,
so he continued to explain,
"You know he didn't get up there by himself, he definitely doesn't
belong up there,
he doesn't know what to do while he is up there and
you just have to wonder what kind of idiot put him up there
in the first place."

For gods sake Gordon Brown let the people have their say and lets have a General Election. After all I' m here fighting for democracy and you were not voted in by the people. Am I the only one that finds this ironic?

So many useless bits of have been's you failed to mention-Harriet Harman,The Milliband Bros. Ed Balls.Actually why not axe the lot and be done an start again with new people we can trust. Not that I will now vote Labour mind you.

Lets be honest Brown and his government are toast whenever they go to the polls. One thing is for sure that the longer they leave it the bigger will be their defeat. The suggestion is that Brown is hoping the economy shows some improvement by next year, what he fails to understand that he and his government were unpopular before the recession even began. You cannot lie repeatedly to the electorate, whether its about the 10p rate or the EU Referendum, no more boom etc. and expect people to trust you. Combined with their general and financial incompetence, they have lost the peoples support. Time for a change.
