QUEEN TERROR BOMBSHELL: How money-grabbing chauffeur sold out her Majesty

TODAY we expose an outrageous Buckingham Palace security breach-set up by a Lithuanian HOOKER-that could have put the Queen at the mercy of terrorists.

Money-grabbing chauffeur takes our undercover man into Palace

THE WAY IN: Where chauffeur met our reporters
THE WAY IN: Where chauffeur met our reporters

On Friday two undercover News of the World reporters were given access to Her Majesty's fleet of limos inside the palace grounds by the prostitute's boyfriend - grasping royal chauffeur Brian Sirjusingh.

He has now been suspended pending an investigation by palace officials.

READ: ROYAL CHAUFFEUR SUSPENDED

The driver BETRAYED his Queen for just £1,000 as he sneaked our men-both Asian-past security without even searching them. Then he encouraged them to look around and even SIT INSIDE the cars used by the royal family.

He had no idea of their identities or motives-only that his hooker girlfriend Victoria Voronova-with whom he romps in his Royal Mews flat-had met the men who were willing to pay him to do it.

"That's where the Queen sits," Sirjusingh bragged to one of our reporters, ushering him into the royal back seat of a Bentley often used by Her Majesty.

He then WANDERED AWAY giving our men plenty of time to either slip a small bomb or tracking device in a gap beneath the seat.

READ: IT'S VICE QUEEN VICTORIA

Buckingham Palace officials are now investigating the security breach. A spokeswoman for the palace said: "Any security matter is taken very seriously and we will look into these allegations."

Sirjusingh, 38, claims to have driven the Queen himself, although the News of the World understands that has not happened yet. But he was happy to let our investigators PHOTOGRAPH and VIDEO the vehicles including a Rolls Royce, a Daimler and a Jaguar.

He even let them take snaps of the NUMBER PLATES and revealed TOP SECRET CODENAMES for two of her main cars used by drivers and royal protection officers. And he told our reporters-both using fake IDs- about SECURITY WEAKNESSES inside the cars and Her Majesty's PRIVATE TRAVEL PLANS for the weekend.

Shameful Sirjusingh's breathtaking betrayal will rock the Royal Protection Squad and increase fears for the Queen's safety at a time when security around her is believed to be at Level 2-the second highest-because of the raised threat from al-Qaeda terrorists.

All prospective royal staff now undergo "positive vetting"-research on their background as well as checks by police and MI5 to establish criminal convictions or terrorist links.

Even members of the Windsor family, including the Duke of Edinburgh and Prince Charles, have to show photographic ID each time they enter a royal residence.

Yet all our men needed to slip through the royal security net was the help of a £200-an-hour Eastern European prostitute . . . with a lover close to the Queen's daily routine.

Voronova, 21, set up what could have been a potential terrorist plot when she introduced us to Sirjusingh-whose relationship with her makes him a prime target for blackmail. And he was only too pleased to help.

At 12.10pm on Friday Brian sent our reporters a text, saying: "Hello this is Brian at the Royal Mews just give me a quick call when u get here I will be at the gate."

Our men, posing as curious Middle Eastern businessmen, met him shortly before 1pm on Friday at the entrance of the Royal Mews on Buckingham Palace Road. Standing behind the imposing iron gates dressed in his smart chauffeur's uniform, he smiled as he opened them to let our men in. He was clutching his mobile phone and explained: "I was talking to my wife." When asked if that was Victoria-he replied: "It's a little bit complicated. I think you understand what I mean!"

Sirjusingh, originally from Trinidad, led our men right past a uniformed police officer sitting in a small security booth. They were taken straight past two large signs reading 'STOP security measures in progress' and 'Have your personal card/ ID ready please'.

They were not stopped even though the Queen was in residence.

First port of call was the royal courtyard where the driver proudly pointed out his apartment before boasting that he was at the Queen's "beck and call". The former military man bragged he underwent a year training to prepare him for his job.

Eager to impress, Sirjusingh- whose spoken English is poor-said: "I'm what they call a first chauffeur which means there is the head chauffeur, deputy chauffeur then meself. There's six of us in total. Obviously all of us are ex-military."

He bragged of his army career in the Royal Logistics Corps and claimed he had spent four years working for the Duke and Duchess of Kent. "There's something called the RLC, which is Royal Logistics. It takes about a year to train to get up to the level even to be considered, anti-kidnapping and anti-hijack and all the rest of it. So it's a long process. I did four years with the Duke and Duchess of Kent which allowed me to kinda come in here."

The route our man took
The route our man took

By now our men were at the royal stables where the horses and ceremonial carriages are kept. Sirjusingh opened a wooden door off the courtyard which led to the large royal garage and an impressive line-up of luxury vehicles.

First he let our reporters into a burgundy coloured Bentley. "These is the only two cars existing in the world like that," he said. Pointing to two Bentleys used by the Queen for Royal duties, he said: "This one you cannot buy, there's not a price on this." He then revealed the cars' security codenames.

Unbelievably, he threw open the back door of Her Majesty's car and invited our man to jump in. "That's where she sits," he confirmed.

CASHING IN: Sirjusingh takes £1,000 from our man
CASHING IN: Sirjusingh takes £1,000 from our man

Then, like a car salesman, Sirjusingh showed off a Rolls Royce with a high roof, adding: "There is about eight or nine of this one in the world." He then let our men produce cameras and snap the vehicles before showing off another burgundy Bentley with extra large windows and a raised roof-built for the Queen to use on public engagements. Sirjusingh said: "It's especially to accommodate if she goes in and out with a hat.

"These as well would never be built for anybody else except Her Royal Highness. So this is the only place you're going to see this."

When one of our reporters asked about security measures incorporated into the Royal vehicles, Sirjusingh revealed sensitive information about the vehicles' vulnerable points -which we will not be revealing.

He then strolled towards the other end of the garage and showed us Princess Anne's green Bentley saloon. "This is Her Royal Highness Princess Anne's personal car," he announced as our man opened the door to have a look inside.

This was a particularly shocking breach given that Anne was targeted in London by would-be kidnappers while in her car in March 1974. The vehicle was forced to stop as she returned from a public engagement. That incident led to a major overhaul of royal travel security.

Greedy

But any concern for the safety of his employers was the last thing on Sirjusingh's greedy mind.

The final vehicle on Sirjusingh's shameful tour was the Queen's personal car-a green Daimler with an ordinary 2005 number plate.

"It's a supercharged V8 but it was built to suit the Queen. She drives. Sometimes she says 'leave me alone' and she goes away," said Sirjusingh before insultingly discussing personal details of his employer. "She's got slightly short legs so the floor has been raised to suit her. It's tailor made for her. She only uses it because it's British and she got it at a discounted rate."

Sirjusingh was also happy to gossip about Camilla. "She's OK, despite what people say. She gets a bad press," he confided.

Then he showed off the ceremonial carriages, including one he claimed had been used for Charles and Diana's wedding.

Surjusingh also offered to moonlight for our men and whined about his wages. "If you ever looking for a part-time chauffeur let me know," he told us. "Quite a few evenings I'm free. But you just can't go and tell Dick, Tom and Fred I work for so and so. It's security. I have to say the pay is not so great."

The tour complete, Surjusingh stood by the main gate-in full view of the security booth-where he greedily pocketed a white envelope containing £1,000 in crisp £20 notes.

Then our team strolled back out of Buckingham Palace, yet again unchallenged, with an ease which those on MI5's most wanted list would take chilling advantage of.

The News of the World says...

OUR exposé of Buckingham Palace security is breathtaking. There is little point having hi-tech checkpoints at the front door if a spiv chauffeur with a hooker mistress can let in anyone through the side gate.

We could have been al-Qaeda; we could have had a bomb or at the very least a tracking device. We learned about the Queen's movements and chinks in the armour of her cars. We sat where she sits. All for £1,000.

How many times must the univited gain access, and how many more botched 'reviews' must there be, before we are confronted with a tragedy of monumental proportions?

Her Majesty has been royally let down by 'experts' specifically tasked with protecting her. She - and the country - deserve better.

You Brits are a joke. You let a "royal family" mooch off your tax dollars for a purely ceremonial role.

First off we don't use dollars and im sure thats what bush has been doing off your cuntry(!!!) for the past few years so lay off the Queen and worry about what dark age your in.

By martin. Posted June 9 2009 at 11:24 AM.

The queen is the richest person in the world; let her sell off some investments and real estate and pay her own way. No more taxpayer freeloading!

OMG... What a shame!

"Voronova" is a Russian surname what is comming from a Russian word "vorona" and it means "crow".

Well, what can we say more, men are men and will stop at nothing to feather their nests. But it is really a shame for a trusted, highly paid royal official to betray her majesty, the queen.

By Jerry Asiegbu. Posted May 25 2009 at 7:36 PM.

A few ignorant posts here it seems. The Queen doesn't "mooch off" UK tax dollars. We have records of such things.

The most recent Head of State expenditure we have (06-07) is £37.3m of tax revenue (67p per UK tax payer). This is down from £87m in 91-92. Believe it or not, the Queen pays tax. In the same year HRH paid a total of £191m of revenue surpluses back to the Treasury.

Then there is the small matter of tourism revenue generated. And the thousand of jobs that the Royal family create (1,200 in the Royal household alone).

Love them or loath them, Britain can't afford to be without them.

By Sir C. Posted May 25 2009 at 2:15 PM.

So what would happen if your country didn't have a queen? I'm not for anyone getting hurt, but honestly.... there are more important things in this world than wasting money on a bunch of loafs that serve no "real" purpose, other than drain your wallets dry.

Please get a reality check.

By Tommy Boi. Posted May 25 2009 at 1:20 PM.

Since Dubai bought the QE2, maybe the chauffeur misunderstood and thought these Asian guys were coming to buy the Queen (or maybe just the palace).

By Scott. Posted May 25 2009 at 11:56 AM.

You Brits are a joke. You let a "royal family" mooch off your tax dollars for a purely ceremonial role. The thought of having some born of privilege, unelected yahoo's traveling around on the tax payers dime, and not giving anything back to society at large is appalling. What's even more disturbing is how you all eat it up right out of the media's hand. For the record it's 2009, not 1709, if you all would like to get out of the dark ages the rest of the world is here waiting.

As to Brian's comment below: 'burgundy Bentley with extra large windows and a raised roof-built ..... "It's especially to accommodate if she goes in and out with a hat.'

What a bunch of parasites, we pay for this, a modified Bentley if she wants to wear a hat or not.

This Bentley was a gift from the British Motor Industry - so do your homework Brian and don't bag HM the Queen. I am a loyal Australian and HM is the Queen of Australia.

good help is hard to find! i remember watching news reports of Princess Diana being chauffered around Chicago in a Rolls. i envied the driver who i assumed was a carefully selected employee from the UK. now i'm reasonably certain his main qualification was owning a suitable car! you recall the later tragic consequences of her last-minute choice of chauffeurs in Paris.

by the way, pomp is not a safety device - the royals need to buckle up and drive safely!

They should have planted a mobile phone and then ring it during a royal engagement, see what the reaction would be. They might even have got the Queen to answer

By Paul. Posted May 25 2009 at 7:37 AM.

The Queen has devoted her life to service.

Even the two young Lads displayed great courage & dedication to service, in joining the forces & serving overseas in the thick of it.

The same can't be said I'm afraid of any MP's children of the same age, living it up in Tax payer funded Flats. - Their concept is self-service.

Perhaps some money could be taken away from self-serving greedy MP's & redeployed to protect an institution of ours that demonstrates commitment to serving the pubic through their actions, and not just their words...

I remember the newspaper reporter about 5 years ago who got a job as a Buckingham palace footman. He used a false name. He had false identification ready, but the personell dept did even ask him for identification when he was hired.

He worked for 2 months. He quit when he was told that he would be the footman to take care of American President Bush and his wife on their state visit.

He was a day shift footman. He would serve them breakfast and clean their rooms, with plenty of chances to plant a bomb if he wished. And of course go through their personal belongings.

Lock this guy in a dungeon, never let him see the light of day. OFC put the young lady in there along with him in the next cell over, they can watch each other grow old. It is absolutely horrifying to find that any person working in such a trusted position as the security of our Queen.
On the same note we have to say that in our opinion we find it to synonyms to say the least that this report has come at such a poignant time prior to the European elections
Indeed the motives of the the two Asian men used by The News Of The World in this way is questionable as it would appear to safeguard any suggestions of racism which might have been concluded. Indeed questions should be asked regarding these points.

So, we can deduce from all this that there is no CCTV in the environs otherwise the scumbag would not have been so blasé? I know she's down to her last few million but a couple of hundred quid spent at Maplins would have done the trick!

By Katrina Blair. Posted May 24 2009 at 2:04 PM.

I dont blame our Majesty driver for letting two stranger to enter the Queen Palace through the back gate. The people to blame are in charge of security. There should be CCTV coverage in her Majesty residence and all the fire doors, back doors, secret doors and all the back gate should have fitted with intruder alarms which I think would have alerted the officer's manning the control room. This driver has betray our trust and he his capable of committed more serious atrocity that can endager the whole nation with £1010. This need to be investigated further because I suspect this driver will not be able to take them round the palace himself without support elsewhere from palace staff. PLs Pls PLs investigate..............

With a surname like "Voronova" is as Lithuanian as Osama Bin Laden is a Royal Brit.

But I would like to congratulate those that partook of this excelent piece of investigative journalism, just as a side note, those that are in this kind of service must have their names drawn from a hat as to wether they will be on duty or not, all must report for duty and those that are chosen will get their full wage for lets say a 3 hour shift, thopse that are left out will only receive half pay, then rotate these individuals for the next 3 hour shift, make their shifts a total of 12 hours with a definite 6 hours on the job, which may be consecutive or not, also in this case the driver can double up as a door man or stable boy.

When one deals with rats you don't only lay down traps, you also employ cats as well as poison to get rid of them, this type of behaviour should get a minimum of 30 years behind bars with hard labour.

By Jurgis Malevicius. Posted May 24 2009 at 12:39 PM.

It breaks my American heart to see the Queen referred to as a leach and a parasite by some of the British public. She's no more an ordinary person than the Union Jack is an ordinary piece of cloth. Doing away with your monarchy--though it's only a pretend monarchy--would speed up your country's democratized (or, as H.L. Menkin would have referred to it "boob-ocratized") race to the lowest possible cultural common denominator of your citizenry: which may well be Carribian immigrants!

I agree with the contributors who suggested the excellent idea of emplying Gurkhas for security. Charisma mentions the woman who used up all her lifelines on 'Who wants to be a millionaire' because she didn't know which was bigger, the moon or an elephant. If she were to have googled that reference, she would have found it was a complete hoax, and even the woman's picture belonged to someone else.

As a native born & bred Trinidadian I am deeply ashamed & saddened by Mr. Sirjusingh's disgraceful behaviour!! I hope he is made to pay dearly for what he did.

And yes, Trinidad is an English-speaking Caribbean island, & formerly a British protectorate until 1962. In my opinion gaining our Independence from Britian was the biggest mistake our government ever made!! The island has gone steadily down the drain ever since. However, the standard of education is still modeled after the British - obviously Mr. Sirjusingh is not one of our better educated citizens.

Regardless of one's views about the monarchy there is no excuse for this reckless breach of security measures, nor would any honest person with a conscience wish for anything evil to happen to the Queen. This is an act of treason in my opinion!

I agree with the comment suggesting that fake explosives & tracking devices should have been planted by your reporters as a wake up call to Palace security.

It is a pity that this shocking fiasco is being turned into a racial thing. Is that who we are as a people? Yes, "positive discrimination" is just as bad as "negative discrimination", but is that a reason to lash out at minorities? It's almost as if we just look for excuses to vent racist sentiments.

Yes, by all means, "positive discrimination", illegal immigration, etc should be curbed, but again and again, I'm seeing that many of my fellow Brits are just looking for excuses to align with the BNP. Ok, so the BNP comes in, and then what? Deport Asians, Blacks, Chinese and Jews? And for what? For the sole reason that they're not the right colour?

We're the country that fought off Hitler and his co-fascists. Are we now by canvassing for the BNP by saying that it's okay to be fascist as long as one is a British fascist?

There's absolutely nothing wrong with being right-wing, but a fascist hate-filled party is just plain wrong. We can control immigration without resorting to bizarre and hateful tactics. We can limit the influence of islam on our native culture without acting like thugs and hooligans.

We are British, we are civil. We're not savage racist thugs. We are British, we are dignified!

and ran the Country herself.(If only to protect her family)She could not do a worse job.

I can't believe he risked his home, as well as his job and marriage for a mere £1,000.

Whilst his wages might not be high, he has a home in central London, few of us can afford to live in that area. And he's thrown it all away. Wonder where he'll be sleeping tonight, he's too big a security risk to stay at Buck Pal.

By Jane. Posted May 24 2009 at 7:29 AM.

Obviously he can't be paid as well as we imagine him to be if he's willing to give it all up for a measly occasional £1000.

Perhaps that's part of the reason why he did it, he isn't paid sufficiently, he'll get a 'grace & favour' accommodation and he's not an MP so he's expected to take his minimum wage with eager anticipation, the 'status' of 'working for Royalty' doesn't quite cut it however when you're paid no more than just above what is now minimum wage. I know after being advised by a friend who worked in just this environment.

When was the last time 'Working for Royalty' paid your bills? Neither does it encourage you to risk his life any more than avoiding the bumps so 'one' isn't surprised during their short journeys.

I agree however you would expect motion sensors, alert guards and security cameras to be standard fair under such circumstances, but lets face it 'Her Majs' security when she's paying it can be like her Christmas gift choices: Frugal! Obviously when we're paying for it, there's no limits! So make your minds up, either you pay and therefore are not stunned by such lapses or you don't and do.

Brian ranks very high on the Stupidity Rankings. (Can anyone be more stupid?) He's vying for top spot with the woman who, on Who Wants to be A Millionaire?, did not know that the moon is bigger than an elephant. She used up her lifelines (two options, ask the audience, and phone a friend) and still chose the wrong answer. God sometimes makes them that way. I pity Brian's poor family. He is about to lose his job in these recession-filled times. He has also placed his wife at risk of a sexually transmitted disease. How selfish.

By Charisma. Posted May 24 2009 at 7:03 AM.

'burgundy Bentley with extra large windows and a raised roof-built ..... "It's especially to accommodate if she goes in and out with a hat.'

What a bunch of parasites, we pay for this, a modified Bentley if she wants to wear a hat or not.

By Brian. Posted May 24 2009 at 6:31 AM.

Positive discrimination has placed so many wrong people in important jobs.
No-one is secure 100% of the time.

By Bill. Posted May 24 2009 at 6:30 AM.

If the hierachy of the UK cannot protect the Queen how the bloody hell do you expect them to run the country- which it appears they can't anyway.

By tony1100. Posted May 24 2009 at 6:57 AM.

And exactly how much are we paying every year towards security !!!!!

By laura dawson. Posted May 24 2009 at 6:55 AM.

Never mind security, it's his wife he has to answer to now.

>>>>This guy was given a great job(driving the Queen), a place to stay and Im sure a handsome salary!

It is a well known fact that the employees of the Queen make extrememly low salaries. They are £ 10,000 to £ 13,000 a year.

By Kim. Posted May 24 2009 at 6:43 AM.

I would agree with the last comment: gurkhas or Fijian soldiers. This man from Trinidad is a disgrace and he should be made to understand the full extent of his treachery. Perhaps the Tower of London?

By prue rouse (mrs). Posted May 24 2009 at 6:37 AM.

I visited London last fall. I as a tourist toured the outside of the Buckingham Palace and noted the long lines of people waiting to get in on a tour. What really pissed me off was that these reporters didn't even have to wait in a line to get into the palace grounds. That's not very fair to say the least. God save the Queen!!!

By Russ. Posted May 24 2009 at 6:48 AM.

Certainly, this driver gets full points for stupidity, but if the guards at the gate just let them walk right in, then there are clearly security problems aside from this driver.

He can't take all the blame, because although he was doing something outrageously stupid, I doubt he would have considered it if the thought had crossed his mind that it might threaten the Queen's security.

FANTASTIC JOB MAZ!!!!
This guy was given a great job(driving the Queen), a place to stay and Im sure a handsome salary! and he blew it all for 1000 pounds! STUPID!!!!!

of all the people in the world, I sincerely hope that the terrorists don't get her - the epitome of discipline, grace, and honor in a world gone mad.

Sirjusingh is from Trinidad and his English is very poor. That is strange. Isn't Trinidad an English -speaking Caribbean country

By Bob. Posted May 24 2009 at 5:13 AM.

It would appear that Gordon Brown is happy to spend billions of pounds every year to ensure that Joe Public is watched all the while and their lives are screwed to the floor with stupid Police State regulations - but, this lousy Government cannot even protect the Queen.

By Reuben Camara. Posted May 24 2009 at 5:09 AM.

Can this guy go to jail for life? That is endangering the honor of the whole country and he should pay for it.

By Hamilton. Posted May 24 2009 at 4:58 AM.

Here in the U.S. we constantly see reports about the unprecedented use of surveillance cameras in the UK to press a quick response to crime...seems they missed a spot.

Leadership comes from the top and obviously no one has any fear or respect for those in charge. Security compliance isn't optional....while I am no fan of any silly-assed royal anywhere.....to permit them to be so ridiculously vulnerable is criminal.

By Bob. Posted May 24 2009 at 4:26 AM.

Another reason to get rid of this ghastly taxpayer-sponging monarchy.

By Manc. Posted May 24 2009 at 4:20 AM.

So what. its time for the royal family to be abolished.

By chicharrone. Posted May 24 2009 at 2:24 AM.

What they should have done is planted fake explosives and fake tracking devices to see if they would have been discovered. Nice investigative work but it fell short of exploring exactly how bad the security is.

By rpn. Posted May 24 2009 at 12:59 AM.

So I, a lowly tourist, cannot take photos of the police or in the airport without threat of arrest or worse. But there is literally no security at the queen's garage if you have a few quid and hooker.

Don't you see that they are watching the wrong people??

By leannain. Posted May 24 2009 at 12:43 AM.

Big surprise. Proof that the big brother
police state is a massive waste of time
and money. As if we didn't already know.

By SB. Posted May 24 2009 at 12:37 AM.

You are lucky it was News of the World reporters instead of New York Times reporters. Otherwise the story wouldn't be about the chauffeur, but instead they would be spilling all the top secrets they had learned. I praise you for keeping the secrets instead of boasting of what you know, as the chauffeur did.

By Tarnian. Posted May 24 2009 at 12:34 AM.

no grovel brown had to let the gurkhas live in the uk thanks to the determanation and the dedication of joanna lumley. she is a true lady and should be awarded the OBE.

By colin mc keegan. Posted May 24 2009 at 12:09 AM.

What amazes me is how stereotypical this "plot" was. I mean, a hooker and the Queen's chauffeur? That's spycraft 101! If you made this into a movie, no one would believe it because it's too obvious. At least this won't be happening again for quite a while, hopefully.

By james. Posted May 23 2009 at 11:51 PM.

what you have shown is the fact that there is no security at all. heads should roll for this.

By colin mc keegan. Posted May 23 2009 at 10:47 PM.

I wonder if that's the reason grovel browns decided to let the ghurka's live here?
They would certainly show how good they are protecting her maj, no one would get past them.
But, it show's how lax we are in security measures doesn't it?
Is her maj driver going to be charged with TREASON? basically it's treason allowing someone who could easily put a bomb in any of her cars.
Why weren't they searched before entering the palace grounds?
I think this country should be more security sensitive in future!!!

By bonnythescouser. Posted May 23 2009 at 11:03 PM.

the royal protection squad should employ ex gurkhas. they would be the most loyal bodyguards the queen could ever ask for
