Hey Faraz and Likemind...It's what Obama has done in 4 months that is scary...not what he hasn't done. You don't think he purposely slighted the Queen for the D-Day Event because Susan couldn't make it to his dinner do you? Well a Canadian here in this blog just spoke up for him but that very same Canadian keeps coming over here for our great health care system which is soon to be abolished if Americans don't get off their duff and write and call their Senators and Congressmen (women) REGULARLY. AND...wait till they try to pass the VAT...that is the tax where EVERYTHING will be 25% higher. I thought only the rich were getting taxed...see...we're sunk if we don't let Congress know ENOUGH is ENOUGH! If we cannot manage taxpayers money, how is the government going to manage GM and Chrysler? The Govt has bankrupt Medicare and Medicaid and now they want National Healthcare? Come on Americans, it is going to take common sense everyday people like us to do something about all this. We need to send strong messages to our Politicians that they will be replaced in 2010 if they don't stop this spending. Write to our legislators, become a nuisance, until we see results. Get on board, all brothers and sisters of all creeds and race from the 4 corners of the U.S. and let's make a better America for our children and grandchildren.

Wrong. All defense spending combined only accounted for about one third of the budget during the Bush years. Now Obama has managed to double the deficit while cutting defense spending, so it is probably going to come in under 25% at this point.

Couple things about Obama spending 4.2 trillion.

A) President Bush took office in January 2001, and therefore played a lead role in crafting the 2002-2008 budgets. Presidents Bush and Obama share responsibility for the 2009 budget deficit that overlaps their administrations, before President Obama assumes full budgetary responsibility beginning in 2010.

B) The biggest expense of the government by far is the department of defense and the wars. However, the Bush administration was not including the costs of those wars in their budget! They would propose the funding as “emergency” or “supplemental” funding bills so that they could avoid including them in the official budget to make it look better. Obama is changing that to get rid of the phony accounting tricks and bring accountability to the budget. Yes, it makes the budget look much worse right off the bat because we’re including that in the numbers now.

C) The Republicans never came up with a serious alternative budget. You can complain all you want about Obama's budget, but the GOP produced a budget with one pictures of windmills than it did numbers.

D) Current spending is significantly less than the 20-40% of GDP spent during WWII. And this spending wouldn’t have been necessary if the last guy didn’t break the world. And for those who believe WII brought us out of the Great Depression, how did it do that? Spending.

Any American who thinks Obama is great just hasn't realized yet that the 4.3 TRILLION dollars he has just added to the deficit is bigger than any President from Washington to Bush 2 and will collapse the nation because we are all broke and cannot pay it back. Our foundation is on sand with liberalism, not solid rock.

The very hypocritical liberals who lambasted Bush for spending too much are the same ones who turn a blind eye to Obama spending like a drunken sailor. As soon as Obama signed the Porkulus bill he owns the economy. As unemployment climbs and climbs and climbs it's going to be apparent that Obama and his "solutions" are just speeding up the rate of collapse of the American economy. There will be fewer and fewer Americans who will back Obama as their own pocketbooks are affected negatively.

Then there are those liberals who simply do not care if America collapses. They are miserable people and are only happy when everyone else is as miserable as they are.

Susan Boyle offers a brief respite through her lovely voice and person and we are going to need some inspiration to start anew when everything collapses under Obama and Brown and all these incredibly stupid and myopic and power hungry socialists.

Ryan - I am not disrespecting the office of the president. However, I would like to see and hear of the transparency the current president has declared would be the cornerstone of his administration. Were he to disclose his personal records, I may even consider being in the same room - without the $1 million ;-)

President Bush's past was an 'open book' - there was no hidden agenda. Remember how people used to fuss about his college grades - tried to make him out to be stupid when in reality he had higher grades than his opponents, Al Gore and John Kerry! Wasn't he the only president who had earned an MBA? Yet day after day, month after month, and year after year those in the press kept hammering away at his 'ignorance' - well, he may have spoken Texas-style, but at least he spoke from his convictions and from his heart. And didn't have a teleprompter at his side to see him through it all.

With regard to respect for the office - the utter lack of respect shown by both the mainstream media and the Democrat Party toward George W. Bush AND THE OFFICE is not easily forgotten. To this day, they continue to mock the previous administration...and that is NOT respectful of the office!!!!

We have had the 'war on poverty' for 40 years now, and are we winning that 'war'? No we have more people on government dole than ever before. And the governemtn takes 73% cut of each welfare dollar (by their own accounting!!)

That means there is the equivalent of a full-time government employee for each person on welfare.

Are you liberals so blind that you can't see this? An 'evil rich man' could give TWO people a productive job, for each person his taxes pay on welfare.

AND he would have to rpoduct of their labor, so wealth would be CREATED...

But it would be so evil to make people work for a livng, I know...

In one elegant action, Susan Boyle shows more grace than all of the Presidents' cabinet picks. She just went up 20 notches in my esteem of her. Not only is she a new "rock star," but she has a wisdom I did not anticipate. Very cool indeed.

It's a financial decision. Mr. Obama would have thinking that he's filled your car with gas, renegotiated your mortgage for you as well as given you a tax payment credit stimulus check, assuming you haven't paid any American taxes.
