Foul-mouthed Ross made his sick joke about the woman just minutes into his return to radio following his three month suspension for a series of sick prank calls.
Ross's producer, freelancer Andy Davies, tried to save the pair's skin by claiming afterwards the woman does not exist.
But today the News of the World tracked her down to a small village in southern Spain - and discovered she is an 86-year-old suffering from senile dementia.

Relatives of the woman, Francisca Guzman Lopez, called for £6m-a-year Ross to be sacked.
Son Jose Maria Moreno Guzman, 44, said: "This man needs to go for what he said.
"He has no place on radio or TV.
"My mum is an old person who can't defend herself.
"I'm appalled at what he has done."
Mr Moreno agreed to let the News of the World take photographs of his beloved mum, and to publicise her mental condition to demonstrate how crass Ross's comment were.
And he let reporters and a photographer into the family's small white-washed home in the village of 300 inhabitants where his mum was born and grew up.
He added: "My mum is not a threat to anyone. She's obviously not mentally sound."
Mega-bucks Ross made his sick comments yesterday as he adlibbed on air with Davies about an elderly neighbour at the producer's holiday home in the village of Conchar, near Granada.
Davies joked how he kept getting grabbed and kissed by the 86-year-old in his village as he carried out bricklaying work.
He said: "I'm trying to do my brick work and she keeps coming up. Chatting away to me.
"I can't understand a word she says. And she keeps grabbing me.
"Every time i see her now i have to run indoors."
His story prompted sick Ross to jibe: "I think you should, just for charity. Give her one last night, will you?
"One last night before the grave.
"Would it kill you?"
Davies' wife Abigail told the News of the World yesterday that the woman her husband was referring to was known as Paca.
Francisca is known locally as Paca and she lives very close to Davies' holiday home. Jose, who heard about the broadcast through the News of the World, said: "They were talking about my mother - Mr Davies lives a few doors away, this is a small village and there are no other elderly women here who go through the street kissing strangers."
"She does go round kissing people. It's because she thinks they are relatives.
"She's not a threat to anyone.
"Mr Davies lives two doors away. But he's never come and said anything to me.
"I'd have preferred he did rather than broadcast it on the radio.
"What Jonathan Ross has said cannot be forgiven."
Ross's producer Davies had yesterday claimed the woman he was talking about in the show did not exist.
He said in a statement: "It is completely untrue to suggest that I was referring to a real individual on the programme, nor would I have told such a story about anyone suffering from dementia.
"The story was poetic licence based on the warm and affectionate behaviour in Spanish village life.
"I did not identify an individual because there isn't one."
Ross put out a statement yesterday attempting to deflect blame.
He said: "It was a spontaneous, light-hearted remark made in response to an anecdote set in Spain, where no one was named or ever likely to hear the broadcast.
"As far as I was concerned, the story may even have been apocryphal or exaggerated for comedic purposes, as is common practice on radio and comedy shows across the country."
A BBC spokesman said: "Andy Davies has made it clear to us that he was not talking about any one individual, but was using poetic licence to tell a story. Nothing broadcast by the BBC would allow the public to link the story to one individual because there wasn't one. It is the News of the World that has sought to link the story to one person and has brought this lady to the public's attention."

I really resent the fact that JR earns more than me. Boo hoo. It's really good the News of the Screws put up a link to the extract. I can listen to it whenever I want to feel outraged.

This over-inflated, arrogant windbag is paid a disgusting amount of money to entertain people. He has no real skills apart from a crude mouth. It seems to me he is not entertaining many people so why don't the BBC sack him. If he was an ordinary worker who caused problems and did inferior work there'd be no question about it.

I cannot stand that Ross bloke, just as I can't stand Anthea Turner both are insensitive and and arrogant, him for his remarks and Anthea for pleading poverty, by saying she'll lose her mansion when there's a credit crunch. And the way they look down their noses on people too. If the two of them disappeared from the face of this earth they wouldn't be missed - well certainly not by me!

I think this is just going a bit over board with Johnathan Ross now I have to say, People are taking things to personally and trying to pin point that conversation on some elderly woman over in spain, I think everyone should just get over the whole hula baloo and let Johnathan Ross go back to being funny, it's what he's good at and stop taking things so personally and trying to pin point things in stuff he's saying and making a big issue out of it

He should be SACKED the man obviously is not bothered about the money and has no regrets about the last episode with Sachs.I dont think he cares about anything his superiors say. If they had the bottle to get rid of him - I for one wont miss him

If we don't want Ross on BBC programmes, we say so.

HE SHOULD BE SACKED!!
By TOM.. Posted January 26 2009 at 4:40 PM.
Leave him alone, if you dont like JR switch over, simple as.

Yes, Jonathan Ross's mother did once work as an extra on East Enders. She was sacked in fury for revealing a crucial plotline story. But heyho, afterwards she bobbed onscreen as an extra working in the wards of the BBC's Holby City. Couldn't help wondering if that was somehow negotiated into Ross's contract with them. For some reason he seems to be a power in the media and able to get his own way much more than is healthy.
By Jill T... Posted January 26 2009 at 10:50 AM.
ross needs to be sacked he is just a foul mouth big head who thinks he is bigger than the bbc as a license payer i DEMAND HE BE SACKED this has gone on long enough
By stephanie.. Posted January 26 2009 at 8:46 AM.
This is ridiculous . Jonathon Ross has been telling silly jokes like this forever. If you cant handle this sense of humour then DON'T listen to his show. It's the same with the Sachs saga. I bet all the pepole that complained NEVER even listened to the show. And wouldnt get his sense of humour.
Leave the man alone!!

All of a sudden we are to feel sorry for an over paid, mediocre "celebrity". This has come to typify our celebrity obsessed culture. Now we have to feel sorry for Millionaire Royals, because they have little freedom or Celebrities because they are just like us. The truth is that none of these so called celebrities are like any of us because if they were they too would be subject to the same types of disciplinary procedures as others. If we acted as these shameless morons did we would be sacked from our jobs or ostracised by our peers. It is not and never should be acceptable for someone to suggest what Ross suggested to his co-presenter. He is vile and his behaviour speaks volumes when compared with a shallow so called apology.
By Craig Earley.. Posted January 26 2009 at 7:08 AM.
I*'d give Wossy a break - permanently.
By K.. Posted January 26 2009 at 5:49 AM.
such a funny story and a comment you come to expect from JR. so what if people dont like his humour, DONT listen to him.
maybe you should seek out Frankie Boyle instead, he tells nice clean jokes that will not offend anybody....!!
By james trenchard.. Posted January 26 2009 at 3:13 AM.
"I like him"
"I like him"
"I like him"
is the selfish reply of the self centered who chose to ignore the gratuitous offence his comments cause to others.
By Chris Williams.. Posted January 26 2009 at 3:19 AM.
get a grip people, thats what makes us great, we all have different senses of humour, tastes, stlye, etc etc etc....., if you dont like him, DONT listen. i find him very entertaining. am I a bad person too...???
By james trenchard.. Posted January 26 2009 at 3:16 AM.
Leave him alone, he is a great entertainer and I like him -
By Annette westray.. Posted January 26 2009 at 2:52 AM.
What type of people are actually sad enough to feel the need to complain about stuff like this?? They need to get a life and are the ones who are up themselves. Sad how times have changed.
By John.. Posted January 26 2009 at 2:05 AM.
Ross and those who surround him seem very nasty people. What possess's the BBC to keep on pushing him on to the public? They should face facts and realise that it's time for him to go.
By Jim Turner.. Posted January 26 2009 at 1:14 AM.
Oh for heavens sake, leave him alone. This is being hyped out of all proportion. get a grip people, and listen to the show before jumping on the bandwagon and complaining. Jonathan is a great entertainer - and 5million of us watched his comeback. If you don't like him, switch off. Simple.
By Ellie.. Posted January 26 2009 at 12:28 AM.
have any of you read the transcript?!?!?!? Andy Davies is to blame for this one not JR!!!! JR just responded - he has never met her! ANdy davies has met this woman, knows she is ill and still goes on to say those things - if anyone should be sacked it should be him!! Leave jonathon ross alone for god sake!
By laurat.. Posted January 25 2009 at 11:50 PM.
Jonathan Ross 'vile'?
GOOD!
Some of us like the odd 'vile' joke, bit of naughtiness and innuendo. We're licence fee payers as well - and we seem to outnumber the self-righteous people SEEKING to take offence by quite a margin.
Any anyway, how is a 'give 'er one' quip any different from anything in the Carry On series back in the 'golden age' 1950's & 60's?
By John.. Posted January 25 2009 at 11:28 PM.
Sack him, he is a disgrace to every human being, the six million a year can then be given to old aged where it will do some good, and i have some news for you ross, your not even funny, your a sad pathetic person who gets enjoyment through other peoples misory, the people of England pay a licence fee for this idiot.the BBC needs their heads looking at.
By rob webb.. Posted January 25 2009 at 11:19 PM.
Jonathan Ross's mother used to work as an extra on Eastenders, I wonder how he would like it, if someone made nasty references to about her!!
By Linda Bevan.. Posted January 25 2009 at 11:28 PM.
if this woman was going around grabbing the younger men of the village then she probably agrees with ross's comment,
BTW he did not know of the demantia when he said it.
By john.. Posted January 25 2009 at 11:10 PM.
This is hilarious, he should be paid more
By Simon.. Posted January 25 2009 at 11:07 PM.
Its about time this sicko was given the boot. He preys on elderly people. How would he feel if his mother was senile? He thinks too much of himself, get rid of him I say!!
By Frances.. Posted January 25 2009 at 10:49 PM.
I cannot understand why he is back, not many people like him, and 6 million wasted on him from our money, we shouild have a say in who we have on the BBC. Cannot stand the man, he neither funny, and is very annoying.
By Isabel.. Posted January 25 2009 at 10:47 PM.

REST IN PEACE BRITISH SATIRE,WE WILL MISS YOU.WELCOME TO THE MISERABLE AND SMALL MINDED CYNICS WHO RARELY HAVE A GIGGLE AT THEMSELVES...FOR GOD'S SAKE LET'S BE BRITISH AND NOT FOLLOW THE AMERICAN MENTALITY...GET A LIFE,AFTER ALL IT'S TOO BLOODY SHORT..LOOK IN THE MIRROR AND IF WHAT YOU SEE IS FUNNY..THEN LAUGH OUT LOUD!
By CHARLES CHALK.. Posted January 25 2009 at 10:50 PM.
If you idiots actually listened to the show... NOT just see someone's (who obviously has a bitter grudge against Jonathan Ross) opinion on it, you would hear that it was flippant - HE HAD NO IDEA WHO THIS WOMAN WAS - the way he was told she sounded just some horny old bird trying her luck... certainly din't know about the mental health issue so instead of booking your season ticket on the tabloid bandwagon - know what you're being 'offended' about. If you don't like him, switch over, that is your right. But please don't ruin it for those (in their millions) who do love him.
By Jonny.. Posted January 25 2009 at 10:53 PM.
What is everyones problem? Why cant people just loosen up! It was a JOKE.
Ross does not intend to offend people.
You cannot give offence, you can only take it!
By Rich.. Posted January 25 2009 at 10:32 PM.
Jonathan Ross hasn't learnt anything in the last 10 weeks. This largly overpaid presenter should be sacked.

It wasn`t funny - and neither is Ross. £6M for what?????
By fedupforbeingtakenforaride.. Posted January 25 2009 at 8:20 PM.
Give the guy a break. How many of you even heard the broadcast!!! There are alot more important things in this world that should be on the front pages of the newspapers. He is a comedian, if you dont like his jokes or work then no one is making you listen or watch him!
By Mel.. Posted January 25 2009 at 8:18 PM.
fed up with people slating him! A joke, some time it pushes boundaries! Fair enoguh!
By RBrand.. Posted January 25 2009 at 8:21 PM.
he has always been vile and it is trypical after his return he sinks to low cheap offensive humour again. I am no prude and believe in free speach and comedic license but he I don´t find him even funny. Just disguting....I call him ´the silent G´as in Jonathon Gross ...now that´s funny!
By Richard.. Posted January 25 2009 at 8:13 PM.
why is this vile man still employed at BBC ?
as we licences payers are paying his wages we should have a say when he behaves so badly
SACK HIM NOW
By margaret donaghey.. Posted January 25 2009 at 7:11 PM.
Just how bad is this idiotic overpaid muppet got to get before he is sacked? He should never have been allowed back. Comedian? Not even close! Get rid!
By David Godderidge.. Posted January 25 2009 at 6:52 PM.
Oh get a grip, leave the man alone you sheep.
By i williams.. Posted January 25 2009 at 6:27 PM.
for god sake people grow up, once more its a case of 'pack' mentality, it was meant as a light hearted joke, people need to get a grip & let it go, like it or not, Ross is the jewel in the BBC's crown, radio & TV is the worse without him, pick on someone else people its getting B O R I N G,
By jay.. Posted January 25 2009 at 6:29 PM.
As a media student I would like too hear more of Jonathon Ross's side of the story. At the end of the day Chris Moyles has been saying stuff like this for ages and is far more rude and crude than Jonathon and way more up himself. I think the fact of the matter here is that Radio 2 is aimed at more older generations and an older maturer audience, if this (and the prank calls) had happened on radio 1 and not radio 2 no one would have cared. However I do agree that Jonathon should not be on our screens, because his TV show was watered down beyond belief and hardly had any funny jokes in it. It is a shame too see a legand such as Jonathon reduced to making fart jokes to try and be funny because everyone is on his back. Jonathon should join stickam and do a webcast i think.
By timraw.. Posted January 25 2009 at 6:16 PM.

ross you are vile!!!!!
By ash grattans.. Posted January 25 2009 at 5:31 PM.
There is no way such a rude, crass, arrogant, uphimself person should be on the TV, nevermind earning £6 million a year. But then life just doesn't make sense. I for one won't be sobbing when he pops his cloggs!
By Sarah.. Posted January 25 2009 at 5:33 PM.
I am a psychiatric nurse who sometimes has to look after people suffering from dementia,if i made a remark /joke as Ross made,I would be dismissed on the spot, why is Ross any different,HE SHOULD BE SACKED.
