Shamefully the senior lieutenant serving in Iraq then KICKS its wildly-flailing body, spits out the head, and shouts "f***er" at the dying bird.
In the exclusive video footage obtained by the News of the World, the pathetic creature is seen seconds later still flapping pitifully in its death throes.
Minutes earlier ANOTHER high-ranking soldier, a sergeant major responsible for discipline amongst the soldiers, had also performed the gruesome stunt to the perverse delight of the men he controls.
Holding the struggling hen by the feet and neck, the Warrant Officer Class 2 puts its head in his mouth and, tearing violently with his teeth, rips it off.
After spitting twice to clear his mouth of blood and feathers he gives a wry smile to the camera as a comrade calls for: "A round of applause."
When we contacted the Ministry of Defence, they said: "The incidents shown in the videos were part of an exercise in survival training."
But the RSPCA was furious when we showed them the film. A spokesman said they would press the MoD and question the Army's training methods, adding: "It's a revolting way to treat any animal."
You can make up your own mind by viewing our videos but be warned: The images are not for the faint-hearted.
The shocking footage is the second video scandal to hit the Army in eight days. Just last Sunday, we unveiled an exclusive video of Prince Harry making racist comments. The story dominated the news for days.
The latest video was made in late October in northern Basra. It shows infantry soldiers from 2nd Battalion, Royal Anglian Regiment-known as The Poachers. It is believed the group of around 15 men from B-Company, based at a forward operating base in Al-Qurnah, were being instructed in killing chickens for cooking.
Gathered round a wooden table, they can be seen plucking and preparing the carcass of a dead bird. It is not known how it was killed.
Then the sergeant major picks up a chicken and, to cheers from his troops, decapitates it with his teeth.
Next it is the turn of the lieutenant, one of the most senior officers at the base. Clearly aware he is being filmed, he too is goaded to copy the macabre feat. A solider can be heard saying: "Right, we're all ready boss."
The sergeant major, fresh from his kill, offers the advice: " Bite and pull straight away." And the young lieutenant puts his mouth round the bird's head before killing it.
A military source claims the incident horrified Iraqi troops being trained by the Poachers, who have since left Iraq.
The source said: "The whole point of the training is that we show the Iraqis how to behave. The Iraqi soldiers look up to the Brits-but in this case they were disgusted, and walked away.
"Most people will be sickened by what they are doing here.
"Ok, some people might say these chickens were going to get their necks wrung anyway, and we train our boys to be hardened killers.
"But that's the point. We put these boys in some very difficult situations. They need to know what behaviour is correct, and what oversteps the line."
An Army insider said: "This wasn't done for sport or entertainment -despite how it looks.
"Food and water, along with warmth, is vital to survival and the ability to live off the land is key to all this. We do not do this for fun."
An MoD spokesman said: "In addition to British troops, the exercise involved local forces, and the birds were prepared and eaten in accordance with local custom. The Army does not tolerate inappropriate behaviour, and does not condone needless cruelty to animals."
But RSPCA spokesman Andy Robbins said: "This footage sends out the wrong message about the respect animals deserve. We intend to contact the MoD to find out more about the methods they use when training soldiers."

your all idiots our soldiers are out there diong and seeing what most of you spineless moaning people couldn't even dream about. if this sort of training exercise keeps just one soldier alive that has been separated from his comrades in a hostile enviroment then so be it.the chicken doesn't suffer because its head (containing it's brain has been separated) instant death no pain.
SUPPORT OUR SOLDIERS you sad people

Another unhinged soldier like the one who threw the puppy of a cliff. Get him out we dont want him in there, we want caring professional soldiers who are our protectors not this. I know one lad who didnt get in the army for abusing a cat. Get him out right now,

Its a Chicken ffs.
As for being "prosecuted" since when is it a crime to kill a chicken???
Im sick of hearing morons criticising the armed forces. So what if they "get paid for it" and "werent forced to do it", the fact is they do a great job and are under immense pressure and stress whilst out on operations. If it means giving these lads a laugh and a much needed morale boost, then a few chickens having their heads bitten off is a price well worth paying, even though i dont find it particularly funny myself. You can sit on your high horse and judge soldiers all you want, but at the end of the day they dont care what you think cos your just cowards that could never go through what theyve gone through.

ha u moaning boring people, i was there, i saw the situation, it was survival training, not a play about, shame u care more about chickens than soilders getting kill huh!
By bill.. Posted February 18 2009 at 11:36 PM.
Even if you were going to eat the chicken, biting the head off is not the quickest or most effective way of killing it.
This is just grim and stupid. What a load of morons. Glad my tax money is funding this. hohum
By Daisy-Mae.. Posted January 29 2009 at 11:36 AM.
what a bunch of whiners, this is not new. they've been teaching this sort of thing for years. hell i remember watching a documentary from 1981 of women in military, and in one part of survival training they did the exact thing with a chicken.
it's not easy to find food if you really need it, and its a hell of a lot safer to kill an animal than to ingest a plant, as many plants and vegetation are poisonous and can be easy to mistake for something that could be safe.
By Craig.. Posted January 29 2009 at 1:42 AM.
Grown up men in such a place as Irak are so pathetic to call torturing an animal and making fun of it an Army training??? exactly....what "survival" technique did they learn? Self-Defense in case they get attack by a flock of hyperdangerous iraqui hens? This is just insane and hope they get charged with cruelty to animals...what a shame for Britain...

There will never be peace in this world as long as men, women and children feel they can kill everything it comes into contact with; humans, animals or any fragile being on this earth. The army shows us that peace is impossible.

Yet another reason why Britain should be ashamed of this unlawful invasion.
As far as the mother who left a message saying her
son is out there and is more worried about him than a chicken, at least the son had a choice in the matter!
By David Miles.. Posted January 26 2009 at 2:17 PM.
They then wrapped the chicken in bacon and sprinkled cheese on it..............you should have seen the way the pig was killed to get the friggin' bacon !!!!!!!

my son is out in that hell hole front line. not much to eat, no sleep,
so forgive me i don't give a dam about a chicken.
just want my son home safe. and i an sure all who have loved ones out there feel the same
By jackie cowan.. Posted January 23 2009 at 4:07 PM.
We're talking about people who have seen and maybe done horrible stuff: dead kids, dead friends, dead bad guys, dead anything... it doesn't seem realistic to expect them to feel too sorry for a bird which, anyway, would have met with a gruesome fate.
I haven't been there nor done that, so until I do I'll keep my judgments fairly nuanced:
- we do need killers to protect us (whether this particular mission does protect us is another matter);
- it would feel better if they weren't psychos;
- but is that possible? I have no idea what killing a person at the risk of being killed first does to your mental health... it has to take a toll.
And then there is that macho crowd thing, peer pressure, saving face, all that good stuff. Frankly I was far more outraged by the guys who stalked a 14-year-old Iraqi girl, found her house, gang-raped her and slaughtered all the witnesses... pretty much the entire family. Psychos, I tell you.
Then we have the guys on the other side, doing much worse than this to people--cutting a person's head with a knife takes longer, anywhere between 30 seconds to a couple of minutes... and in that head there is a conscience, a spirit who is extremely aware of what is being done.
Big effing mess... I don't know that we can win it.
By Fred.. Posted January 23 2009 at 7:08 AM.
All I'm saying as a vegetarian is the birds most people eat on a regular basis die in much worse ways, but I also think rat or lizard would have been a better training exercise considering the fact that there are very few chickens running around in the middle of no where since they are mostly domesticated. If it is a training exercise then why aren't they drinking the blood from the chicken too? It would help with dehydration and they would already have been exposed to bird flu by biting the head off anyway. Real survivalists don't waste things like liquid in the dessert.
By sabrina.. Posted January 22 2009 at 8:01 PM.
Almost all of us eat chicken from time to time, and someone kills them for us, by cutting it's head. What I found "funny" is the fact of killing a chicken with a bite ¿Does it make a soldier more apt? I think the training aims to give the guys some kind of "self confidence" regarding the beast they carry inside. Nice job! They are now an army of chicken predators!!! Pretty wild, I wouldnt like to be in front of them (If I were a chicken, of course).
By Americo Patetta.. Posted January 22 2009 at 12:52 PM.
No, this isn't a harmless activity. Wait to see the crimes these men commit when they return home. Will you be happy with the monsters you have created?
By Charles .. Posted January 22 2009 at 11:29 AM.
Get a life! I see complaining about rape or stealing but geez this was a HARMLESS activity. They could have gotten the bird flu but so can anyone around living birds. They need to toughen up because the truth is in war the friend next to you can be blown up what are they going to then when they lack training? Curl up in a ball? it's a soldier not a jurk having fun. it was swift and they ate the fraking bird! It's not a scandle. Though i think for great effect they should have bitten the head off of a rat since that's more realistic !
By T.. Posted January 22 2009 at 5:54 AM.
It's a training exercise that he clearly did not want to do- but had to, because it might save his life. He was just anxious and embarrassed- give him a break. The chicken, well...hope you put Man above Beast, or else what use is a 'survival exercise'.
By john Archuleta.. Posted January 22 2009 at 1:50 AM.
How ridiculous! I watched the video; it was quick and as painless as cutting the head off. While the thought of doing this is unpleasant, all you whining pukes that find this to be so outrageous need to give up eating all meat cause those animals die in just as unpleasant a way. Now, get a damn life!
By Craig.. Posted January 22 2009 at 1:03 AM.
Do the people complaining think Bernard Mathews waits till his birds die of old age before making turkey drummers. They get hung upside down, have their throats cut and if they survive that they get drowned in boiling water.

By Emma.. Posted January 21 2009 at 6:40 PM.
This has nothing to do with survival training. Just disrespect to nature. The only justification for killing the chicken would be the absolute need for food and their are more respectful ways to take its head off.
It's a disgrace.
By Shaun.. Posted January 21 2009 at 6:24 PM.
jesus man, why all this complaining and whining?
ever seen bear grill's extreme survival or something like that? you'll see the same things..
now quit crying..
By henk.. Posted January 21 2009 at 8:02 PM.
Pull head off, bite head off........ At the end of the day, the head was going to have to be pulled off anyway whether by teeth or hand so who really cares?
During survival training there is no knofe, hence pulling head off. Please all those do-gooder posters get a grip and be realistic!
By Mark.. Posted January 21 2009 at 7:57 PM.
apparently just a survival training for soldiers, what the heck?! even if soldiers are exposed in nature, i'm sure that's not the way to prepare a chicken for dinner...

By Lorraine.. Posted January 21 2009 at 3:15 PM.
NO. No excuse in this regard. True, they are there to defend the rest of us, but what does killing an innocent animal in that manner prove? That they are heroes? No, that is proved by their other actions, not by the killing of innocent animals. And no, no need for them to be vegitarians, but hey, they need NOT kill animals in that way. For God' sake, who are we kidding? They should be punished for acting like so, heroes or not!!!
By Marion.. Posted January 21 2009 at 3:12 PM.
In Texas when we want to kill a chicken we wring it neck, or cut it's head off with an axe. Either are quick. Simple country folk will tell you the same. This exercise is about aggression, not survival. No, I'm not a chicken lover, and yes I've killed animals for food.
By David from Houston.. Posted January 21 2009 at 3:04 PM.
I think soldiers must have a fun.
Fun of soldiers of UK is better than trashing people of Iraq ->this is fun soldiers of united states!
By Frederick.. Posted January 21 2009 at 2:56 PM.
its a chicken, ehats the problem, no-one complains about them being shot at but if they kill a bird they get moaned at, so what if some people think its bad, them rspca people should focus on more important things that birds... oh no i forgot, a birds more important than national safety... its a quicker death than when they are in battery warehouses.. jesus cant people do anything better than complain about cruelty to a chicken.

Quick note to all those who deem soldiers immune from criticism, because they're 'out there risking their lives for YOU!' -
- they're not. they're out there risking their lives for the cash they're paid. Want proof? Ask how many do it for free, or would be prepared to.
They're just blokes doing a job, albeit one most people would not like to do. I don't doubt their courage, ability, etc, but they're not bastions of moral superiority. And they're not immune from criticism.
By The Seer.. Posted January 20 2009 at 5:37 PM.
i used to be in the poachers and i tell ya im sure the morale can be low out there and if you lot are trying to have them done for the one of the few laughs they may have had out there then sort your lifes out im sure half the people who have wrote these comments have a chicken in the oven every sunday for christ sake get a grip of yourself and stop being such kill joys u idiotic fools
By chris willoughby.. Posted January 20 2009 at 3:16 PM.
Do all these people who post nasty comments buy free range eggs???? Probably not. Maybe they should visit a chicken battery, and they will find out, that biting a head off one is a lot more humane than the way they die in those batteries.
Even chickens being held in big barns trample each other to death and are left there rotting, often for days on end.
The boys mentioned in this article are fighting someone elses war and have to leave their wives and children behind for long stretches, they should be hailed, not rediculed.

I cant believe what i am reading here......I am in the unit involved in this story. I was on the same tour as the men in this video. And i can hand on my heart say that i would trust every single one of them with my life should the need arise again and again and again.....we train for months prior to deployment...we do 6/7 months on operations and then once we return we prepare to start training for the next tour. Who do we do this for??? Ourselves...no....our families...definately not...we certainly dont do it for the narrow minded people making comments on here. It is a chicken...millions die everyday all over the world...in horrific ways....the only difference being here that it was filmed and had made its way in to the public domain. I'm pretty sure that civilan men of our age do things of a much more outrageous manner...such as mugging old ladies....they are the ones u should be directing your narrow minded views at, they deserve it not us......GET A GRIP!!!!
By tony.shiels.. Posted January 19 2009 at 8:37 PM.
It is easy to make comment sitting at your warm and safe desk. Well done all of you.
These guys are not the prim and proper image you would like, but then they are prepared to put their lives on the line for your country and the government you voted for. Wake up to the reality that soldiering and war are not the the sterile images you see on TV and these men have endured sights and experiences you will never have to. Thank them and don't judge them for having chicken for dinner.
By A realist... Posted January 19 2009 at 10:05 PM.
Asian bird flu has spread with very close contact with birds, not by killing them in this barbaric way but by having their faces close to the birds. I would be very concerned that this virus is already passed on throughout the world , are these guys even considering the risks involved to them and anyone else should such a deadly virus reactivate at this time.
By shirley.. Posted January 19 2009 at 8:20 PM.
Training exercise, my arse! Just another pathetic excuse to abuse the innocent in the name of "entertainment". They didn't show those poor animals one ounce of respect, the moron kicked its poor body then laughed, what's that all about?! Don't get me wrong I have the upmost respect for soldiers fighting for this country but this is vile and sub-human! If my son did that I would disown him!

What they did was wrong get off there backs and support them. Who would you rather have defending our country, Our brave Forces or the RSPCA backed up by all those pen pushing critics who wouldn't know what putting there lives on the line for queen and country was.

I'm a senior soldier who has served in Iraq. There is never any requirement to kill any animal other than in the swiftest way possible. All this bleating about the troops have it hard - we chose our careers and while things can be undeniably tough on operations, we are trained to be disciplined so that when the pressure is really on we don't make horrible mistakes ie commit war crimes. Today a chicken stunt, tomorrow torturing POWs. Only those with low IQ don't see that there is a connection. The officer and WO should be sacked - no question.

These folks who shudder and grimmace at the sight (thought) of a chicken having its head ripped offtruly need to know and understand one simple thing...."War is hell, folks. Get used to it!"
Military survival training is an absolute necessity in modern warfare and many of these comments is pretty typical of civilians who are generally too squeamish to understand that combat training is NOT meant to be pleasant.
One odd thing though - I see that many (civilian) folks get easily upset by this notion and yet, nary a word is said, when the same people are informed about the eating practises of the Orient...where the killing, boiling alive and subsequent eating of puppies and kittens takes place millions of times a day - expecially in China.
Doesn't it just rile you when civilians - who are absolutely dense and completely ignorant of military survival training - get all huffy and puffy when they see something like this. Get real folks...support your military!
By Chris Copley.. Posted January 19 2009 at 2:24 AM.
Karma, prosecutions, stupid kids, rotten swines?
Perspective people.
It's a bird, a meal.
True, you don't have to bite the head off, you can dettach the neck from the body and leave the head on. But will you still achieve the same aim of a dead bird?
I cant believe that more coverage has been given to this story than what is given to a soldier being killed, or a succesful operation were "Your Hero's" have taken the fight to "Your enemy" and won, and made significant improvements to your safety.
I take pride and comfort in the fact that evil men are prepared to do evil things so people can sleep sound in thier beds at night.

Survival training? Yeah right. My Uncle has just come back from being in Afghanistan and is disgusted! Yes they are taught simular to this, but killing a chicken in your mouth is not the way! Breaking it's neck is the way. It's extremely unsafe, the chickens could carry any disease or infection. This looks more like a sick joke to me and my Uncle by the way they are applauding each other and laughing and kicking it, were they taught this? I don't think so. They should be ashamed, they are setting the wrong example and the wrong way in which to kill a chicken. Yes i'm a meat eater but i do feel for the animals that i'm eating i really don't like thinking about it, let alone being reminded of it. People need to have a bit more respect and stop justifying their actions because of who they are and what they do. If you don't know about the Army and how they are taught etc then you shouldn't just go with " It's survival training, hellooo? ". The bottom line is this is sickening and should be shamed apon - simple as.

It makes me furious to read comments like "leave our soldiers alone".
What about leaving the innocents alone?
Since when does being a soldier mean being allowed to do such sick cruel things to animals???

I assume all you meat eaters eat animals that died of old age?
I suspect many posters here are somewhat lacking in perspective. And, judging by most of the posts, spell-check.
By Stu N.. Posted January 18 2009 at 8:47 PM.
For Gods sake leave the troops alone. The people complaing would never even wear the uniform less alone put their own lives at risk for others. As for the RSPCA getting involved that is pathetic, in the UK they are the most difficult organisation to get out to do anything unless it involves a TV camera being present or asking for more donations.

Fed up with the comments they are fighting for us , they are not fighting for me as the whole Iraqi and Afghaniston wars have made things worst for every one . They are not force to fight as soldiers like my father had to do as a Desert Rat in ww2 and he would have been disgusted for he loved animals . Glad to be vegie .

So what! its all part of training to survive,i have had to kill Rabbits with my bare hands ever tried to kill a rabbit that way? Soldiers are taught to kill and thats what they do.
Chickens are an ideal animal that can be found anywhere in the world and are easy to catch and eat.
Everyone knocks the lads for being Soldiers but most dont have any idea what its really like so unitll you do stop winging about it and get to the frontline yoursleves and fight then come back and tell us how it was..
So either put up or shut up..

Why is everyone so upset? Each time any one of you whingers eat chicken, be it a KFC, a sunday roast or even a chargrilled chicken pizza, do you sit and ask yourself ' how did this chicken die? was it a humane death?' NO, you just get stuck in without a second thought. Hypocrites!!
Did you know that one UK 'humane' way to kill a chicken is to string it up by its neck while still alive before moving it swinging along a pulley and then dipping it, alive, into boiling water? Is that any more humane than killing it by biting it head off? I dont think so!!
The next time you chicken hugging, tree loving fools jump on the outrage wagon, just remember the halal way of slitting an animals throat and leaving it to bleed to death while thrashing about in agony!!!
Until you have ANY idea about soldiering, i would suggest that you stuff your face with a large slice of humble pie...after scoffing your 'humanely slaughtered' KFC of course!!
By jodie greene.. Posted January 18 2009 at 7:22 PM.
So....who had chicken today? Chicken curry? KFC? Hmmm?
Funny how this outrage happens over a chicken but no-one bats an eye when a soldier is killed?
Ladies and Gents, you really REALLY need to get out more if a chicken being killed is such a problem for you. The guy that bit the head off the chicken may be dead tomorrow, and I wonder if that would make the front page and have you all saying how barbaric it is?
I REALLY dont think so you hypocritical fools.

I personally find this apalling....
Do any of you know how hard it is to get blood out of clothes?

Reason #365672 not to join the army.
No wonder the Americans aren't impressed with our contribution lately.

FACT ONCE HEAD IS OFF BIRD ....BIRD FEELS NO PAIN ....KEEP ON TRAINING
By duck man.. Posted January 18 2009 at 6:58 PM.
Right! I have keys to the outrage bus.
These are skills soldiers need on escape and evade (E&V) and therefore need to be demonstrated its no good waiting until an E&V starts for real to try it.
The video shows a method of killing, its faster than wringing or cutting its neck. Its less stress for the bird than a B Mathews factory which would leave you more shocked. Do you really think that birds destined for finger licking KFC & Mc D fair better than the video bird?
Seeing things killed is shocking, thats why soldiers who are but a heartbeat from real E&V need to see the act. The cost of freedom to voice your opinion as you have was paid for by the fathers /gfathers of men just like these in the video who are today ensuring your right continue unfettered.
To answer an post, yes they are fighting for us, disrupting al-Qaeda from controlling Afghan, which if they did would see a massive increase in heroin and allow training grounds to open again.
Take a second to think just how far the rights of Afghan people have advanced, eg the right for women and girls to attend school. If things had continued pre 01 would anyone in Afghan be allowed access to computers to say/read whatever.
Remember al-Qaeda is an Islamic fundamentalist linked to terrort incidents including the attack on the WTC in 01, Bali bomb 05, London bombs 05 this is not a definitive list.
Bus refuelled key handed back shes ready for next job.

You people make me laugh, we are talking about chickens, soldiers go places that you would never go and see things you never want to see trust me, the fight and die to protect your way of life so you people can write stupid comments and read papers like this one that seem to do nothing but bad mouth the army, you dont like the things we do how about you just keep your mouths shut the world isnt a fairy tail place. but hay all the ones that complain go pick up a rife and stand a post but much easier to judge than do something aint it.
By rob .. Posted January 18 2009 at 6:14 PM.
Are the British soldiers not given penknives or some form of weapon to dispatch an animal? We are all animals and if the medical profession treated a relative of theirs in that way the tears would flow from their faces. DIGNITY for all.
By Louise.. Posted January 18 2009 at 6:01 PM.
Barabaric!!! What else can you expect from a force of crusaders!!!
By Ian Brown.. Posted January 18 2009 at 5:00 PM.
It takes a certain type of human being to be prepared to go to war and fight for there country. Revolting as it may be, if you had all the do-gooders joining up and not the hardened men that are willing to do this sort of thing then the British army would be full of wimps! All the people moaning about cruelty to blimmin chickens stick to your nice cosey office jobs and stop complaining and leave the grafting and barbaric job to the best fighting force in the world. The minute we stop soilders being soilders and turn the army into a bunch of Labour goody goody wimps the country is in trouble.

As most of you CIVILIANS dont know anything about survival training, maybe you should try it yourselvs, living of the land and bieing hounded by the enemy and surviving is not as easy as just popping off to tescos. As for the lady that sugested they should kill the chickens humainly ( what wait for it to die of old age) show me how to do it. good effort lads.
By Tim Dunn.. Posted January 18 2009 at 4:57 PM.
If this was survival training as claimed by the Ministry of Defence then why did the Senior Lieutenant swear at and then kick the dying bird?
Hardly survival technique behaviour.
I have been on a survival course and wringing a chickens neck took seconds. It is not necessary to kill it by tearing off its neck .
Clearly it was a case of showing off using cruelty and torture on innocent creatures. It sets a bad example to younger soldiers and should be rebuked.

there sik! It's the way there brought up. Animal
By liam.. Posted January 18 2009 at 5:32 PM.
Good drills that man, nothing like fresh chicken when you've been eating cook house food for six months.
By Jamie Mack.. Posted January 18 2009 at 5:30 PM.
Thats not the way I was taught to kill Chickens, its simply not safe to come into contact with uncooked bird blood. The necks should be broken by twisting.
Unless of course you want to get salmonella and be out of action for a week or more.
By Gordon.. Posted January 18 2009 at 5:28 PM.
How sickening that you people can sit in your warm houses reading your Sunday papers and making such judgements on the people who are/were thousands of miles from home and family while risking their lives for YOU. You have the time to write such derogatory words about heroes who's job you have no concept of. The things they have to see, do and put up with would have you screaming in your cosy beds at night.
Imagine being lost in unknown territory for a few days with no food or weapons. Imagine what you might have to do if you'd forgotten your lovely picnic basket with your M &S chicken sandwiches and canapes. If the option was to starve to death what would you do? "Oh no dear we can't possible kill Mr Rabbit or Mrs Chicken, that would be terrible!"
It seems cruel to treat chickens like this, but it's neccessary in order to train soldiers how they need to behave in order to survive. And after all, its just a CHICKEN!
Leave the army alone, they're doing a great job in the most terrible circumstances - if you fancy helping out then get yourself down to the careers office now - otherwise get a life and find something else to whine about, like our shocking, spineless, money grabbing, thieving politicians.
By Craig.. Posted January 18 2009 at 4:15 PM.
just because there isnt a McDonalds within spitting distance, i cant see why the soldiers had to film the so called training, but the chickens died just as quick (if not quicker) as they would at a slaughter house. if the soldiers did cook and eat the chickens then i cant see what the big deal is all about!

Barbaric.
By Arthas.. Posted January 18 2009 at 3:31 PM.
I would just like to ask the animal activists a question and pass a comment.
This is obviously upsetting to many people and is quite rightly not nice to see. However, think back to past events and get your priorities right. When these soldiers go out to places like Iraq and Afghanistan do you show them support for the hard and dangerous work they do? How many aid workers and overseas workers have been beheaded by terrorists? This was two chickens not human beings.
By Nicky.. Posted January 18 2009 at 3:04 PM.
These chickens could have been sucide chicken
spies!! I feel like chicken tonight, like chicken tonight!
Surely there are more important things going on in the world and we are debating chickens!!
By peter.. Posted January 18 2009 at 2:51 PM.
This video is disgusting. Our BRITISH soldiers should be totally ashamed of themselves! I cannot believe some people can be so cruel. And how they have an audience of clapping and laughing sickos is just so sad. Yeah, i'm sure they should be so proud of themselves!!!! NOT!!! Nasty vile men!!!
By Mandy Britton.. Posted January 18 2009 at 2:47 PM.
As some have said survival training my ass this was barbarity and a 2nd leut and a WO2 the main activators so for Gods sake what have we got leading the ordinary ranks and come to think of it they are lucky to have chicken as I saw nothing like that in the desert original 8th army and not even bread for 9 months and when chasing jerry could outpace our supplies so we went onto bully which you poured out the can//the British army have fought in worse places than Afganistan
By Leaves.. Posted January 18 2009 at 2:47 PM.
Omg, Good bless Iraqi and Afghan people!
