Have your say on climate change

With the UK facing an energy crisis, how do you think we should best tackle it?

Now you can have your say on energy company E.ON's new website. which aims to provide a summary of the energy challenge facing the UK.

It features forums and video clips featuring experts and industry leaders discussing affordability, carbon dioxide reduction and renewables.

Now E.ON wants customers and consumers to get involved in the debate by posting a video, or uploading your own comments to their website - hosted by YouTube.

On a clip posted on the site, Paul Golby CEO of E.ON UK said the company hoped to tackle today's most pressing energy issues.

He said the UK is currently facing "Not an energy dilemma, but an energy tri-lemma."

As part of the energy challenge, the UK has to work out how to balance the need for low carbon energy, reliable sources, and affordable prices.

Director of energy regulation at E.ON UK Sara Vaughn said that E.ON was passionate about energy efficiency."

She said that E.ON doesn't just want to invest in gas- they are looking at all types of fuels, including nuclear and fossil.

But E.ON bosses don't just want industry experts to join the debate.

Mr Golby said: "We're inviting you to join in and share the debate. Ask the questions that are most important to you."

We need to embrace new technology and go for solar infared ,wave and geothermal energy that,s clean and reliable.

Disengage from E.ON! They have attracted many protests including by Greenpeace and Climate Camp for seeking to new coal-fired units in the Thames Estuary. Even if these had complete carbon capture and storage applied, this can only reduce their carbon footprint by 70-80% according to respected analysis by Peter Viebahn. The Tyndall Centre for climate change research has just published a report saying that wealthy nations like us need to COMPLETELY decarbonise our energy supply by 2025. So there is simply no way new coal-fired units, an investment that has to last decades, can be justified here.

The only solution any of the corrupt politicians are going to come up with is more taxation and more authoritarian control over how we (not them) travel around. Watch them all jet in to Copenhagen in a few weeks and jump into huge Limos to get to their hotels. If CO2 was that dangerous they wouldn't do it. Global Warming is a convenient quasi religion which is going to be used to control populations in much the same way as religion has been used for centuries, with the High Priests living lives of luxury while the rest of us suffer and pay.

Overpopulation, everyone is afraid to address the cause of
most of our problems

each person/household should have a number of credits for energy useage, no matter how much they can afford to pay. these would be like plastic credit cards and be shown and amounts deducted when they went on an aircraft, bought petrol, paid energy bills, etc. people would become much more aware of how much energy they used, and would stop silly things like boiling 3 gallons of water for a cuppa, leaving lights, heaters on, etc.
