UN hears our tree crusade

THE News of the World is to address a meeting of United Nations experts on our hugely successful Seeds For Schools campaign.

Our initiative, in partnership with the Forestry Commission, aims to harness schools across Britain to plant a million trees.

Already, over 12 million seeds have been sent to over 31,000 primary and secondary schools to help meet the target.

Alongside this we have worked with the Forestry Commission and the

Climate Change Schools Project to create a massive learning resource at www.seedsforschools.org .

Our deputy managing editor Paul Nicholas, who will be addressing the conference of forestry and communications delegates in Switzerland at the end of this month, said: "We're proud to spread the word."
