Every year I visit Majorca to support Abba tribute band Abba Again. I was a member before I joined Hear'Say and they tour the island every summer, so it's the perfect excuse for a sunshine getaway.
Last August, I booked a villa in the quiet seaside town of Portals Vells for my son Corey, four, and friend Michelle. My boyfriend Jay (DJ Jason King) couldn't come as he was working in Australia.
During our first week we chilled out at the villa, which had a huge garden and hot tub. But Corey loves the beach so we also visited Sa Platgeta, where the water is calm and perfect for kids.
One night, we went to an acrobatics show in Magaluf called The Pirates. Corey loved it. Pirates escorted us to our table for a barbecue dinner before the stunts began.
And for Michelle's 30th birthday, I threw her a surprise party in the garden at the villa. I booked a live band and we danced all night.
But the next day, I got a surprise of my own. Corey and I were in the pool when Jay strolled in to the garden. I couldn't believe my eyes! He'd finished his job in Australia early and had flown out to spend the rest of the holiday with us.
A few days later, Jay asked if we could have a night alone, so while Michelle looked after Corey, we went into the village for a romantic meal and a stroll by the marina. We were gazing out at the water when Jay suddenly got down on one knee and held out a ring. I couldn't believe it when he asked: "Will you marry me?" I welled up and laughed at the same time because although we'd been together four years, I really wasn't expecting it. But, of course, I accepted straight away!
The next few days were magical. I've been to Majorca many times, but it now has an extra special place in my heart.
