Cannes-tastic! Your A-list itinerary

Rock on over to the French Riviera and you might just bump into Brad and Angelina...

Every May the celebrity circus hits Cannes for the famous Film Festival, making the Côte d'Azur town one of the most exclusive places on the planet. Here, we give you an A-list itinerary - whether you've got a Tinseltown or toytown budget

Tinseltown Located by the waterfront and favoured by stars such as Penélope Cruz and Eva Longoria Parker, the luxurious Hotel Martinez boasts a private beach and Michelin-starred restaurant. Prices start from around

Going out

Tinseltown Bar des Célébrités, in the Carlton hotel (where Sean Connery stays when he's in town), represents French glamour at its finest. Order a legendary Lady Carlton - champagne and strawberry juice - for 20 euros (£18) a pop. For supper, make like Kirsten Dunst and book a table at the world-famous Chez Tétou down the coast at Golfe-Juan. A three-course meal costs around 95 euros (£85), and the bouillabaisse - a local fish stew - is a definite award-winner.

Toytown Le Petit Paris, on Rue du Bivouac Napoléon, has scrummy daily specials for around 8 euros (£7). Not strictly Provençal, but the tapas at Bellota House on Rue Victor Cousin is delish and cheap. For to-die-for cocktails, try Le Must or the Up Side Down bar opposite the Palais des Festivals.

Where to shop

null

Tinseltown La Croisette is Cannes' answer to Bond Street, with Chanel, Fendi, Dior, Gucci and Hermès - and even designer boutiques for kids! Angelina Jolie was papped in Bonpoint last year, stocking up on clothes for Shiloh. And the shops of Monaco and St Tropez are just a limo ride away.

Toytown Head to Rue d'Antibes for high-street faves like Kookaï and Zara - with prices generally cheaper than home (depending on the exchange rate). For home-grown French fashion, try Banana Moon for comfy casuals and Chipie for denim. There's also Sephora, a beauty department store, and Gambetta Market for cheap clothes and gifts.

Tinseltown Everyone from the Manchester United lads to Brad Pitt have rented yachts from Luxury-rentals-cannes.com, and for £71,600 per day, you can too. The Alysia has a helipad, gym and elevator! The company can even arrange transfers - by helicopter, bien sûr.

Toytown EasyJet has return flights from London to Nice for around £70. Once in France, why not hire a convertible? A soft-top Peugeot 207 costs from £370 a week at Carhire4less.co.uk .
