'MUM, YOU’RE A MILF!’

How would you feel if your mum was so hot you were mistaken for sisters, and she got more male attention than you? Two women reveal what it’s like to have a MILF for a mother

As student Shanna Preston pulls up outside her college gates, a waiting gaggle of young men seem to be on the lookout. Indeed, they watch unashamedly as the pretty 20 year old opens the car door, but Shanna doesn't hold their attention for long before she sighs and resignedly struts off to study.

For the men are not there for her - they want a glimpse of her mother, 37-year-old Lynda, who's dropping her off.

"It's always the same," complains Shanna. "Whenever Mum gives me a lift to college, I get guys saying: 'Who's your buff mate?' And my male friends start blushing and grinning whenever her name comes up in conversation."

Lynda is a MILF, short for Mother I'd Like to F***, the cheeky term made famous in the American Pie films. A new breed of women, they are giving their kids a run for their money when it comes to style, sex and attitude. The days when mums over 35 were expected to get a sensible haircut and lower their hemlines have gone, and bar owner Lynda couldn't be happier about it.

MALE ATTENTION

She says: "I make the most of the male attention - it's very flattering. What woman wouldn't enjoy it?"

In the celeb world, MILFs are everywhere - actress Goldie Hawn, 63, who is mum of Kate Hudson, 29, looks fabulous. Models Twiggy, 59, Jade Jagger, 36, and Yasmin Le Bon, 43, have teenage daughters and look better than ever. And Demi Moore, 46, arguably looks hotter than her eldest daughter Rumer, 20. What's more, she has a toyboy husband to boot - 31-year-old actor and model Ashton Kutcher.

Shanna, from Essex, admits that her mother's youthful looks have always caused people to do a double take. Even at primary school, she remembers being pointed out in the playground as "the one with the good-looking mum".

Luckily Shanna insists she's proud of Lynda, and hopes she's inherited her genes. She says: "We go for drinks together and she gets chatted up all the time. People are always asking if we're sisters. We're both size 8 so we swap clothes, although she'd never touch my miniskirts, thank goodness.

"Mum's mostly chatted up by guys in their early 20s, which makes me feel good because, all being well, I'll take after her when I'm her age!"

But Shanna claims to have no fears about her mum coming on to her boyfriends - or vice versa.

She says: "Mum and Dad only split up recently, so she's not dating at the moment. As for my boyfriend, Billy, he says Mum's one of the most beautiful women he's ever met. I'm not jealous - he tells me I'm a younger version of her."

But Shanna does admit to feeling the odd pang of envy. "Occasionally I think: 'I wish I looked like her,' especially if an item of clothing fits her better."

Meanwhile, Lynda says looking younger than her years is a great ego boost.

"The other day I was buying a bottle of wine in the supermarket and I was even asked for ID," she laughs. "I think I have lucky genes, but I exercise and eat healthily. More than anything though, Shanna and her younger sister Georgia keep me young."

'WE LOOK LIKE SISTERS'

Also maintaining MILF standards is Sara Lockerbie's mum Wendy, a 48-year-old veterinary practice manager from Kent. Both a size 8, they shop together and swap T-shirts and vest tops. Sara, 25, laughs: "Her wardrobe is full of dresses I've bought and don't like!"

She adds: "I wish she'd wear something more appropriate for her age, though. She loves clingy tops and killer heels but if I say something's too low-cut, I'm told to shut up! As long as she feels comfortable and looks good, who cares what people think?"

Sara says Wendy has always been gorgeous and enjoyed lots of male attention.

"When I was 15 I remember boys hanging around our house in the summer hoping to see her sunbathing," she says."As I've got older we've become more like mates than mother and daughter. She comes out to bars or clubbing with me and my girlfriends and when I had long hair, people mistook us for sisters."

Just like Demi Moore, Wendy is also popular with younger men.

"Guys chat her up all the time," Sara explains. "She mostly dates 30-somethings, and because she doesn't tell them how old she is, they assume she's the same age. It doesn't bother me that they're closer to my age than hers - I think 'good on her'."

Sara says boyfriends have been nervous about mentioning her mum's appearance.

"One ex, in utter disbelief, asked: 'Is that really your mum?' I gave him a sharp look and he never mentioned her again," she explains. "Luckily, Mum and I have different taste in blokes, so we've never fought over anyone."

Wendy is currently dating a 28 year old, and says: "He pursued me - I never chat up men. He's too young and there's no future in it but we enjoy each other's company and it's fun. Older men just get beer bellies - why can't they take care of themselves?"

She adds: "I may be 48 but I've no intention of letting myself go. Why should I conform to people's expectations of what my age should look like?

"Look at Tina Turner. She's 69 and looks amazing. I wholly intend to follow in her very high, foxy footsteps!"
