Gossip frontwoman Beth Ditto makes her debut as a fashion designer
Our favourite fiesty frontwoman, the Gossip's Beth Ditto, showed her new clothing line for Evans to fashionistas and celebs including Daisy Lowe and Kelly Osbourne at a party at London's Sketch last night. Beth was joined by Arcadia boss Sir Philip Green, who also masterminded Beth's pal Kate Moss' own collection for Topshop, Kate herself and Simon Cowell! And Fabulous had an insider on the spot - Beth's chosen model, Charlotte Levy!
Charlotte was picked by Beth to model her first collection for Evans and after completing her catwalk duties, she ended up doing a spot of karaoke with Beth, Kate and her fellow model Felicity! The chosen tune was Total Eclipse of the Heart - nice work ladies.
Charlotte said, "The night was absolutely amazing. Everyone was so down to earth and not at all stuck up. Beth was incredible and I love the clothes - I haven't bought high street for years, I mainly
wear vintage, but Beth's collection for Evans is really nice and comfy."
Beth is known for her flamboyant fashion statements and has become something of a style icon, appearing on the covers of Style and Love this year. She brought her unique, quirky style to the collaboration with Evans to produce a range of clothes, shoes and accessories that are funky and fabulous, with vintage and 80s touches.
We particularly love the cute domino print dress (£45) and leggings (£20), as modelled by Beth last night, and sequinned 80s-style batwing top (£65) which aren't designed for shrinking violets - wear one of these and you're guaranteed to stand out in a crowd!
Beth said of her new venture, "Designing this line is a dream come true. I wanted to make something special, just for us,
something never seen before. I hope the clothes inspire you to think outside the box. After all, boxes are square and in more ways than one we are not."
