Hot label alert: Sea New York

Sea New York is a hit with New York's A-list... and us!

It's not often we find a new label that makes us hate everything in our wardrobes, but Sea New York did just that when we checked out the latest collection at a party last week!

Designed by native New Yorker Sean Manahan (hence the name), the collection consists of feminine separates with a fun, flirty twist that are perfect for everyday wear and parties.

But don't just take our word for it - the hippest starlets across the pond have been rocking Sea for some time now. Everyone from Gossip Girl's Blake Lively and Leighton Meester to Alexa Chung, Emma Roberts (Julia's niece) and queen of cool Chloe Sevigny have been wearing Sea to parties and premieres.

Sean turned his hand to designing after the clothes he made for his girlfriends were such a hit, and the philosophy behind his label is still 'clothes that make girls smile'. He knows exactly how to make us look and feel fabulous with pieces that are flattering and chic.

The Autumn/Winter collection (yes we know it's only July but we're getting a bit bored of the sun and want to start planning our winter wardrobes) consists of pieces that can be worn effortlessly from day to evening. Cute cotton frocks, silk vests and striped playsuits are ideal for chic daywear, while a stunning taffeta prom dress is perfect for parties. Fabrics like leather and lace, silk and sequins, are layered to create an eclectic, bohemian vibe and masculine tailoring gives girlie, body-con dresses a sexy edge. Whatever look you go for, put some Sea in your wardrobe for a touch of Manhattan style.

Sea New York is stocked at Joseph, Westbourne Grove, London, W11; Cochinechine, Hampstead, NW3 and Oxygen, Eastcastle Street, London, W1. www.sea-ny.com
