‘It’s Strictly romance in our home’

Since they got engaged two months ago, Camilla Dallerup and Hollyoaks hunk Kevin Sacre have been dancing on cloud nine. And the couple love nothing more than sharing a romantic meal together at Camilla's one-bedroom flat in Walton, Surrey.

"My parents gave me this Piet Hein table when I was 18. It's the only Danish thing I own. I had it shipped over when I bought the flat."

Danish-born Camilla, 35, says: "I like to create a relaxed atmosphere with tea lights around the room, then we curl up and watch a film. The other day it was The Notebook. Kevin got choked up - it was so sweet!"

Kevin, 31, met Camilla last July, while they were filming The Underdog Show, a reality series in which celebrities learn to train rescue dogs.

"I thought: 'Wow, she's nice'," laughs Kevin, who wasn't deterred by the presence of Camilla's ex-fiancé, dancer Brendan Cole, who was also in the show. "I knew she was the one straight away," he adds.

Kevin, who owns a flat in Liverpool, began spending more time at Camilla's place - and she immediately put him to work in her luxury kitchen.

"Kevin is a fantastic cook - he even bakes me scones."

"I'm a hopeless cook so I'm lucky that Kevin does it all," says Camilla, who left Strictly Come Dancing last year after six years on the BBC1 show.

"The other day he whipped up a home-made tomato soup. He asked me to warm up the bread, but I still managed to burn it! I'm very spoilt - he's perfect husband material."

Lucky then that Kevin, who's returning to Hollyoaks next month as Jake Dean, asked Camilla to marry him while on holiday on the Italian island of Capri.

"He took me to La Fontelina restaurant, overlooking the famous Faraglioni Rocks," she says. "He fumbled around for the ring and said something like: 'These rocks are beautiful and here's another!' It was possibly one of the worst proposals ever!"

Now they've got a wedding to plan, and Camilla's also on the lookout for a new house.

"An old barn, with a modern interior, in the Surrey countryside would be lovely," she says. "But I know that wherever we live it will be perfect - because we'll be together."

CAMILLA'S STYLE TIPS

• Always buy good-quality items as they will last much longer.

• Buy things that reflect your personality or heritage. I'm a real fan of Danish design, which is very minimalist. I love simple furniture pieces.

• Mix old with new. I enjoy hunting for antique furniture and putting it next to modern items for a stark contrast.

• Buy fresh flowers, like lilies or roses, to add a homely feel to each room.
