I'd be happier if... I wasn't newly single. I recently split up with my girlfriend [actress and model Karima Adebibe, 24]. I love her very much, but don't know if we'll get back together. I'd also be happier if the sun shone eight months of the year rather than three.

I'm at my best when... I've been for a run. I run to work at BBC Radio 6 in London each day. When I arrive, I feel like I've pushed myself and I'm ready to start the day.

Those closest to me would describe me as... loyal, totally reliable - if you're in a jam, you know you can call me - and straight talking.

Apart from my family, three things I'd want on a desert island are... a football for something to do, the book For Bread Alone by Mohamed Choukri, which talks about the craziness of city living, so it would contrast with the desert nicely. Plus some language CDs. I'd like a Japanese one then I could come back and blow everybody's mind by speaking Japanese on BBLB.

One thing I'd like to do before I die is... bring some beautiful kids into the world, and experience love more than I've experienced pain.

If I advertised myself on a dating site, it would read... "New to this kind of thing, lonely radio DJ seeks wonder woman - funny, intelligent, beautiful, amazing dancer, raconteur, multilingual, an amazing mum and a really good backgammon player."

The thing I like least about myself is... my feet. They're size 13 and drive me mad.

My fantasy dinner date would be... Marilyn Monroe. She was pretty alluring.

The thing I value the most is... friendship. Friends are the one constant in life and key to being really happy.

My biggest regret is... not travelling more when I was younger. I just wanted to make money. I started delivering flyers and at 21 was running the nightclub Ministry Of Sound on a Saturday night.

If I wasn't a presenter, I'd be... an entrepreneur. I've always had lots of little businesses on the go. My next step is to buy a beach bar somewhere exotic.
