It was a case of iconic images a go-go at the opening of Alex Proud's new gallery, Proud Chelsea, this week.

We hightailed it down to the all new swingin' King's Road gallery to check out the never-seen-before collection of photographs, entitled Elvis at 21: New York to Memphis.

The intimate, behinid-the-scenes snaps, taken by renowned photographer Alfred Wertheimer, show Elvis as a fresh-faced newcomer on the cusp of global fame. And most of the images are available to buy.

Alongside other guests was none other than Mick Jagger and his model daughter, Georgia May, who's just been revealed as the face of Versace.

They rocked up to check out some iconic images of Mick on stage with The Stones, which were being showcased in the basement of the gallery alongside stunning images of other icons of our time; from Marilyn to Bob Dylan and David Bowie from his Diamond Dogs era.

Elvis at 21: New York to Memphis runs from November 18 2009 to January 31 2010 at Proud Chelsea, 161 Kings Road, London, SW1
