Helen Flanagan, 19, plays minx Rosie Webster
What becomes of
the broken-hearted? They hit the dance floor, of course. At least, that's
what Helen Flanagan did after she split from builder boyfriend Daniel Scott
in August. Not for her nights home alone, wallowing in self-pity and sobbing
over old photos.
"I went out to take my mind off it," explains Helen, who dated Daniel, 22, for a year. "I loved Danny but we kind of fell out of love. I could have gone out when we were together but I chose to stay in and watch TV with him. I ended up feeling too old for my age. I'm making up for it now though - I go out loads with my girlies. It's party time!"
In the days after the break-up, Helen was seen out on the tiles with co-stars Kym Marsh (who plays Michelle Connor) and Nikki Patel (Amber Kalirai). She later celebrated her 19th birthday at Manchester's cool Panacea club with Brooke Vincent (on-screen sister Sophie), Vicky Binns (Molly Dobbs) and Jennie McAlpine (Fiz Brown).

However, partying only dulled the pain for so long. "I was fine for the first couple of months after the split - and then it hit me," she says. "I thought: 'I've had my partying, my friends around me and all that support, and I still miss that person being there, having a hug whenever I want.'" Helen pauses. She's not teary or emotional, more reflective. "It's weird not being in a relationship. You miss that closeness."
After the split, Danny - who met Helen at their local gym - moved out of their rented flat and Helen returned to her parents' house in Bolton, Lancashire.
Fortunately, Corrie's party princess isn't expected home on the stroke of midnight. "There are no curfews - I can come in whenever I want," she laughs.

Which is lucky for Manchester's party circuit regular. Helen proudly admits to rolling in at 3am the previous night after a clubbing session - although, she promises, there was no boozing involved.
"I stayed sober because I was doing this shoot today," she says. "I've only once gone to work with a hangover never again. Luckily I only had one line to say, but I felt so guilty for being unprofessional."
Helen admits boozing has got her into trouble in the past.
"I was drunk at a house party and threw a drink over a friend. I was mortified afterwards and cried my eyes out. I'm a good girl, but that was nasty."
And she admits that looking good in that LBD can also spell disaster.
"Before a night out, I cut back on carbs and stock up on protein so I look better in my outfit - but that can backfire because if I don't eat properly, I'm all over the place after one drink!
"And as soon as I have a drink, I go into pout mode," she laughs, shaking her head. "When I see pictures on Facebook, I'm always pouting. I think: 'Just smile, Helen!'"
Since changing her status to single, Helen's been fighting off admirers. She's enjoyed nights out with Manchester City defender Reece Wabara, 18, and JLS' Marvin Humes, 24 - but when we ask if either is new boyfriend material, she plays the "just friends" card.

"It's nice to have someone to text and go on a date with," she says. "But I prefer to have fun with my friends. If a hot guy's there, I'm not really bothered!"
And here's a tip for any suitors - Helen's a sucker for cheesy chat-up lines. "When guys say corny things, it pulls at my heartstrings. I get stuck with them all night!"
But if anyone gets too frisky, Helen can always give them a whack with her handbag, which is full of party ammo.
"Bronzer, powder, blusher, concealer, eyelash glue in case my falsies fall off - I take my whole make-up bag with me!
"For a night out, I'll spray tan, put on fake lashes and have big, volumised hair - I like to look sexy," she says. "I've just bought a black Agent Provocateur knitted dress to go with my open-toe Louboutins. They're trashed but I love them!"
And with her image in mind, Helen's got strict rules about where she won't be seen in Manchester. "I'd be mortified if anyone saw me in a kebab shop," she says, grimacing. "It's not ladylike! I'd rather go home and eat muesli."
Kym Marsh, 33, plays single mum Michelle Connor
It's been a
year of personal tragedy for Kym Marsh, but it's one she is determined to
finish with a smile. She strides into our studio in killer shoe boots and
happily announces that she and actor boyfriend Jamie Lomas are back
together.
"He hasn't moved back in yet," she explains. "But we're taking things one step at a time, and really looking forward to spending Christmas together."

The actress deserves her happy ending. In February, Kym and Jamie's baby son Archie Jay was born 18 weeks prematurely and died moments later. In October, her 15-month relationship with Jamie, 29, crumbled and he moved out of her Cheshire home. But today, Kym's smile is back. In fact, she's never looked better.
In May, she had surgery to take her boobs from a size 34B to a 34D, and liposuction to lose her "mummy tummy". The surgery has done wonders for her figure - and even more for her self-esteem.
"It's great to feel body confident again," she says. "This time last year I wouldn't have worn anything clingy - but since the surgery, I've bought some lovely new dresses, including a skin-tight sequined Pinko number."

Kym, who is mum to David, 14, and Emily, 11, from her relationship with ex-boyfriend Dave Cunliffe, was crowned Celebrity Mum Of The Year this month. But being a dedicated mother doesn't mean she can't party as hard as the other Corrie girls - although she admits: "Helen's got more staying power than me because she's younger."
And Kym's had her share of embarrassing booze-fuelled moments, including one when she was living in Wigan. "Me and a few friends were playing dares and I walked down the street in my bra and knickers!
"These days, a night out starts with my beauty ritual - I shower, put on body lotion, then enjoy a glass of wine as I do my make-up. I'll go out for dinner with friends, then on to a bar - it's game over if you don't eat first. I've woken up many times with my fake eyelashes stuck on my cheeks!"
And what would Kim ask the Fabulous party fairy for?
"I'd love to throw a heroes and villains ball in a mansion. I'd go as Catwoman in a diamond encrusted leather catsuit. I'd invite Hollywood actors but not their girlfriends - Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt and George Clooney, you're on my list!"
Michelle Keegan, 22, plays feisty Tina McIntyre
If partying
became an Olympic sport, then Michelle Keegan would win gold.
"I'm the loud one who's a bad influence on a night out," admits Michelle with a mischievous grin. "When my friends say 'no' to shots, I'm like: 'Do it, do it, do it!' I always go for sambuca but recently I discovered Jägerbombs (Jägermeister and Red Bull). They're lethal! After two of them, I'm gone!"

A night out with Gavin & Stacey star James Corden, 31, in London last month was no exception.
"I was presenting at an awards ceremony and was so nervous I didn't eat beforehand - so when I drank four Jäger bombs, I got drunk quickly," Michelle recalls. "I ended up going to Mahiki nightclub with James until the early hours. I woke up in my hotel bed the next morning, still wearing my Lipsy dress and heels. Classy!"

With her recent award for Sexiest Soap Star, Michelle could easily play it cool in the VIP room. However she prefers to party with her pre-Corrie friends and adopts a more cheeky approach to clubbing.
"I love going out with my old school mates. I can be me - the girl who's up for anything. We play dares on a girlie night out and the penalty for not taking part is a sambuca - they really liven up a party!" she laughs.
It's not surprising that Michelle's endured some red-faced moments in her time. "I was in Manchester's Coliseum club posing for a photo recently when my heel slipped and I ended up on the floor," she recalls, giggling. "A picture ended up on its website. Very uncool."
However, Michelle draws the line at drinking on a school night.
"I find it hard enough to go to work normally, let alone with a hangover," she says. "Last week, I was out until 5am and felt so terrible when I woke up that I rang my mum and asked her to bring me a bacon butty. She refused, so I made do with a Pot Noodle."

Michelle moved out of her mum Jackie's place last month and bought a bachelorette pad in Manchester, where she lives with her sausage dog, Phoebe. Although she's been dating club promoter Brad Howard, 22, for 18 months, she has no plans to disrupt her girls-only house.
"I'm still young - there's no rush," she says. "It's going to be at least a few years before we think about sharing a place."
Perhaps she's holding out for a certain big-haired hot vampire from the Twilight saga...
"My dream date would be Robert Pattinson - he's very sexy," she sighs. But her boyfriend needn't worry too much. "If I threw a party, I'd have to have Ricky Gervais there, just so he could do his chicken dance."

And Michelle's tip for the perfect party look? "Big hair. It makes me feel so sexy. The bigger the better!"

Helen Flanagan is gorgeous but I wish she'd bloody stop pouting!!!!
It's the same reason I've been turned off Keira Knightley, such attractive girls but constantly trying to look all pouty and sexy.
It's frustrating, distracting and makes her look like one of those middle aged woman in photos desperately trying to hold onto her youth and appear sexy.

Why is Kym Marsh hanging around with girls young enough to be her daughters?
Is she that immature?
