Singer VV BROWN, 25, on celebrity bodies and her own make-up tricks

FACE "Not all make-up ranges cater for women with black skin, but I've found a fantastic foundation, Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse, £6.84, which matches my skin tone. It's lightweight, so doesn't feel caked on, and it makes my skin look smooth."

ARMS "Although I work out regularly in the gym, my ideal body shape is toned and soft like Halle Berry's figure. I hate Madonna's muscular arms - she looks so unfeminine and androgynous. I think she's gone overboard with the exercise. I'd never go to an extreme like that."

HAIR "I have my Afro hair professionally straightened every two months, and keep it sleek with Ghd straighteners. I do my '50s-style quiff myself - it looks complicated, but it only takes 10 minutes. To minimise styling damage, I use Tresemmé Heat Defence Styling Spray, £4.20."

EYES "I've perfected my signature eyeliner flick. I steer clear of liquid liners as I find them messy. Instead I use Mac's Eye Pencil, £10 - it allows me to be more steady and accurate. My desert island item would be eyeliner. Accentuating your eyes really opens up your face and immediately makes you look made up."

BODY "I'm really healthy and haven't been to a doctor since I was 16. I don't believe in vitamins - I think they're a way for pharmaceutical companies to make money. I'd rather eat an orange than pop a vitamin pill."
