Analyse Me! Celebs on the couch

What makes your favourite celebrities tick? Fabulous psychologist James Brook probes inside their minds. This week it’s TV presenter Gabby Logan, 36

Draw a picture that best represents you... Gabby says, "I've drawn a house in an idyllic position on a hill, overlooking water, with birds flying and the sun shining."

I'm at my best when... my energy's going the right way, the children are sleeping well and the sun's shining!

Those closest to me would describe me as... funny, clumsy, generous, busy and probably a little bit bossy.

One thing about my past I don't admit easily is... most of it, so I'm not telling you anything!

Three things I'd want with me if I was stranded on a desert island are... an iPod packed with entertainment, lots of books and, as I'd be relying on nature for food, I'd need a fishing rod.

One thing I would like to do before I die is... have at least one book published. At the moment I write newspaper columns, which are factual. I'd love to try something new. And if I was told I was dying soon, I'd want to see everyone I love and tell them so.

If I advertised myself on a dating site it would say... "Busy mum of two (which turns off 99 per cent of people immediately) seeks the one per cent of people still reading this. I like music, sport, late nights and laughter, and seek somebody similar."

The thing I like least about myself is... my lack of patience. It's apparent when people aren't up to speed or putting in the effort.

My fantasy dinner date would be... Michelle Obama. I'd be fascinated to learn about her upbringing, how she runs her household, what she makes of her husband's policies and her plans to help him fight the world's wrongs.

The thing I value the most is... my family. I can't function properly without them. They are my reason for being, for getting up in the morning and for doing what I do. You can't fail to be positive with two three year olds [twins Reuben and Lois] around.

My biggest regret is... leaving Yorkshire a year before my brother, Daniel, died of a rare heart condition. He was 15 and I was 19. If I'd known he was going to die, I'd never have moved.

If I wasn't a TV presenter I'd be... a teacher. I loved my teachers and it must be great to give back, be inspiring and change children's lives.

Answer the following...

I get anxious or self-conscious in social situations... Never

Being tidy and organised is important to me... Always

I live a fast-paced life... Always

I lose focus when under stress or pressure... Rarely

Gabby Logan presents Inside Sport, Monday evenings, BBC1.

'Gabby is giving but can be controlling'

JAMES' VERDICT: "Gabby values the stability that her home life gives her, and the house in her picture indicates the importance of this to her sense of well-being. The path from the house to the sea reflects her occasional need to 'escape' from her hectic lifestyle, while the arrangement of flowers shows how she values togetherness in her family.

Gabby's desire to give back as a teacher shows she's motivated to assist those less fortunate than her. However, her conscientious and commanding nature means that, at times, others may perceive her as bossy or controlling.

Being optimistic and resilient, Gabby deals well with pressure, but at times of stress she may be negative and critical, which will appear out of character to others and will worry her. But her energy and positivity means she can bounce back from setbacks in her personal and work life." James is a specialist in psychometric testing.
