Who's wearing it? Every party diva worth her Louboutins. What's not to like? These gorgeous berry shades are the key look for party princesses and will go with any outfit.
How to do it
Step 1 Start by lining your lips with a berry pencil. Either follow their natural shape or, for real pout power, make them fuller by drawing a line a few millimetres further out than your natural lipline. For fair skin we love Rimmel 1000 Kisses Stay On Lip Liner Pencil in Indian Pink, £2.99 (1). Or for darker skins, try Maybelline Hydra Extreme Lip Liner in Bordeaux, £2.99 (2).
Step 2 Fill in your lips so they're bursting with kissable colour. Apply your lipstick directly or use a lip brush, if you have time. Blot the first coat with a tissue and apply another to give real staying power. You're spoilt for choice when it comes to berry shades this season (see right). From shimmering to sophisticated matte or glamorous glossy, take your pick and pucker up!
And finally To stop lipstick ending up on your teeth, once you've applied your colour, suck your index finger to remove any excess lippy
Psst... Plump up a thinner top lip by stopping your liner 1cm before the corner of your mouth. Mwah!
THE CHRISTMAS SMOKY EYE
Russet, burnt copper, rusty brown whatever you want to call it, this is the eye colour to be rocking this season.
Who's wearing it? Everyone will be. Your beauty commandment this festive season is not to be afraid of drama. On green or blue eyes this smouldering look is gorgeous as it makes eyes sparkle, while it will deepen the colour of brown eyes even more.
How to do it
Step 1 Start by packing on the colour with Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner in Stiletto, £14 (3), using a brush or your fingertip. Yes, it's dark, but hold your nerve! This plum shade is the perfect base for all the colour and sparkle to come. Plus, the cream texture will allow the shadows to stay in place for longer.
Step 2 Here's where the sparkle and glitter come in - it's party time, after all! Two fab shades are Rock & Republic Eye Colour in Adrenaline, £20 (7), and Mac Eye Shadow in Coppering, £11 (9). Load your brush and pat it all over the eyelid. Then, using your index finger, blend the shadow out towards your eyebrow and the edges of your eye to create a sexy cat's eye shape.
Step 3 Add extra depth and real smoky glamour to your look with a daring dark rust shade. Use a blending brush to apply Mac Eye Shadow in Antiqued, £11 (8), along the lash line, the crease line of your eye and underneath the lower lashes. Step 4 Don't forget it's Christmas - and we all love a white one! Add a little snowy sparkle along your brow bone for definition - Vie At Home Gilty Pleasures The Glamouriser in White Gold, £10.50 (6), is perfect. You can also use it on your collarbones and chest for some extra festive sparkle.
And finally You need tonnes of black eyeliner on your top and bottom lids, plus lashings of black mascara. Prestige Waterproof Automatic Eyeliner in Black, £4.39, doesn't need a sharpener, so it's perfect to pop in your clutch bag for touch-ups. FLUTTER THOSE LASHES
The quickest way to add some extra zing to your party make-up is with full-on lashes. Apply eyelash glue along the eyelash strip and wait until it goes tacky. To get the lashes in the right place, put a mirror on a flat surface and look down as you're applying the lashes so you get them right up to your own lash line.
