TRAVIS - Ode To J Smith

Album review

THE country's biggest group at the start of the decade, Travis risked becoming-in their own old album title-The Invisible Band.

Well, don't write them off just yet. They break out the guitars and roar back on form, not least on the loopy title track's Bohemian Rhapsody-style rock opera.

Fran Healy may be an unlikely rock god but they deserve a second chance with these ballsy 70s rock singalongs. Bit of a strange album title, though.
