Live: Enter Shikari

Verdict: **

University, Manchester

THE St Albans rockers were selling out big venues like this before they were even signed.

So it's no surprise when they're met with total pandemonium.

But there's still the sense something is missing - namely that rave-metal is nowhere near as interesting in the flesh as it is on paper.

Singer Rou Reynolds bounds around like an overgrown toddler, but he lacks true charisma.

Meanwhile, the riffs on Sorry, You're Not A Winner and Juggernauts sound powder-puff next to the weak synth back-up.

This is pointless, middle-class rebellion rather than any notable youth movement.
