BASEMENT JAXX - Raindrops

Verdict: ****

Basement Jaxx - Raindrops

"I NEED you like raindrops," sings Felix Buxton, giving us someone to blame when the sunshine vanishes.

Usually hiding behind his keyboards for the veteran dance duo, Felix proves a decent singer, even if his vocals are disguised by a voice-distorting vocoder.

Already a favourite at their concerts, it's more of a straight-out pop song than their usual disco but equally as exciting - as cool as, well, summer rain.

Anyone who's shaken a foot to their old hits like Where's Your Head At? and Oh My Gosh will melt to these Raindrops. Hopefully September's new album Scars will be as strong.
