Hewlett Packard, Sony, Lenovo and T-Mobile all launched tablets in Vegas this week.
Sony's Dash needs to sit near a plug socket. But you can access the internet via Wi-Fi and it streams video on the 7-inch screen.
The HP version has Windows 7 software to make it a touchscreen and it changes display from landscape to portrait automatically.
Lenovo's Ideapad U1 touchscreen attracted a lot of interest at the CES because of its detachable screen. It comes as a Windows 7 laptop, but remove the 11.6-inch screen and you have a standalone tablet.
T-Mobile released a portable family Android tablet with mobile connections.
All are expected to be under £600.
