Review: Shaun White Snowboarding - World Stage (Wii)

SNOW White, as he should be known, adds yet another collection to the quality snowboarding franchise.

World Stage is out exclusively for the Wii and, considering the success of previous Shaun White titles, is surprisingly good.

The brilliance of Ubisoft's Shaun White, on PS3 and Xbox 360, was the visuals and ability to freeboard down mountains. World Stage, however, focuses on the ability to stand on the Wii board and pretend you're bombing it down a slope. The visuals are disappointing but the gameplay is flippin' brillo. You can board around the world, and choose from 15 characters and 75 challenges.

The standout aspect is customising your tricks. While a tail grab and 360 spin can be fun, designing your own skill with a mixed combo of flicking the Wiimote and changing your weight on the Wiiboard is much more satisfying.

Overall, a fun game - the only improvement would be the graphics but that's the Wii's fault, not Ubisoft's. As they say in snowboarding "cool" speak, this one's totally gnarly, dude.
