Steve Zahn and Milla Jovovich play a pair of newlyweds on honeymoon in Hawaii.
(And no offence, Steve, mate. But you're punching so far above your weight here it's like Evander Holyfield versus Teddy Feckin' Ruxpin.)
Shortly after touching down on Oahu, Steve and Milla find out that a pair of serial killers are stalking the Aloha State.
They press on with their trip regardless, but tag along with two chummy but weird backpackers (Timothy Olyphant and Kiele Sanchez) for safety.
Which is just as well, because they keep bumping into a pair of threatening surfer types (Marley Shelton and Chris Hemsworth) who look like they've got a secret to hide.
The casting is right on the money - all the couples ring true and it's hard to pick a favourite between Kiele's ditzy Southern gal and Olyphant's lunkhead Nick (sample line: "I'll watch ANYTHING that Nicolas Cage is in.")
But with three couples and two killers, you don't have to be Jessica Fletcher to work out that our bad guys are going to be two of the six.
And you don't even have to be Jessica Simpson to work out WHO they are a good 20 minutes too early.
However. Although the big reveal flops, what follows is a lot better - the film switches into a punchy chase flick, complete with swearing, gunfire and wince-inducing hand-stabbings to spare.
It's enough to make up for the botched twist, and enough to turn A Perfect Getaway into the best (non-kiddie) option in a horribly bad week.
