DVDs of the week

TWO LOVERS (15): Before Joaquin Phoenix went Joaqu-o, he made this superb romantic drama about a troubled New Yorker who has two beauties (including Gwyneth Paltrow) on the go at once. Bewitching film that works perfectly on the small screen.

17 AGAIN (12): Yes, Zac Efron's first post-High School Musical project is hugely unoriginal, but it's still a great fun coming of age romp. The story begins when old Zac, played by Matthew Perry, gets a magic chance to go back to being 17 and relive his "salad days", says the box. Bet there weren't too many of them, eh Matt?

THE LIFE BEFORE HER EYES (15): Ropey twist-based drama about a high school massacre starring Uma Thurman and Evan Rachel Wood. Great for fans of slo-mo shots of Evan Rachel Wood in a bikini. Not so great for fans of good acting or decent stories.

PAUL BLART: MALL COP (PG): Tiresome family comedy about a fat shopping centre security guard who rolls around on a Segway, not being particularly funny. Rustles up the occasional laugh but not enough to justify a purchase.
