DVDs of the week

Robbie Collin reviews Milk, The curious case of Benjamin Button, Valkyrie, My bloody valentine 3D

MILK (15): Sean Penn deservedly took the Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of Harvey Milk, America's first openly gay politician.Top-quality biopic, that's flamboyant, visually ravishing, and will move you to tears-and that's just Penn's wardrobe. Highly recommended.

THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON (12): This old- fashioned epic starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett combines a spellbinding story (man is born old and ages backwards) with jaw-dropping visual effects. Like Forrest Gump, but much, much better.

VALKYRIE (12): Decent war thriller about Tom Cruise trying to kill Hitler, told with pizzazz by Superman/X-Men director Bryan Singer. Not the greatest DVD out this week but worth a watch if you missed it at the cinema.

MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D (18): Duff horror remake of interest only to those who want to see a fully naked woman running around screaming in 3D. Will probably sell by the truckload.
