MAX PAYNE (15): The dark action looks an absolute treat on Blu-ray-but all the megapixels in the world can't disguise the rotten storyline and cartoonishly bad acting. Don't be tempted.

THE THICK OF IT: THE SPECIALS (18): Get warmed up for the ace In The Loop with two hours of brilliantly foul-mouthed political carnage on this special DVD of all the episodes of the BBC show that didn't feature shamed Chris Langham. Superb.

GONZO: THE LIFE AND WORK OF DR HUNTER S THOMPSON (18): Top documentary about the drug- addled writer that mixes reams of great archive footage with a barnstorming soundtrack and some truly impressive talking heads (an ex-US President AND Johnny Depp?).
