Kerry hospital dash
Katona tested for potentially fatal condition
By Chris Pragnell
PREGNANT Kerry Katona has in hospital being tested for a potentially
fatal illness.
The mum-to-be said she had shown symptoms of pre-eclampsia -
which could be deadly for both her and her unborn baby.
But a spokeswoman has since said her condition is not as serious
as thought.
"In fact it was water retention and low iron levels, which
brought on similar symptoms," the spokeswoman said. "That
is fantastic news. Mummy and baby are fine."
The ex-Atomic Kitten singer was rushed to hospital earlier this
week on the advice of her midwife.
Kerry had been complaining of swelling in her legs for weeks
but the pain had been increasing.
She was being treated at a maternity unit in Macclesfield, near
her luxury home in Wilmslow, Cheshire.
Husband Mark Croft had been keeping a bedside vigil.
Kerry's health scare was initially deemed so serious she has
postponed filming her fly-on-the-wall documentary for MTV called
Crazy In Love.
