Why are so many showbiz babes obsessed
with kissing girls?
By Katy Walford
MADONNA'S been at it again... locking lips with a female dancer.
The Queen of Pop was photographed in an all-female embrace
in Paris last week during a private showcase for her new album "Hard
Candy".
It's the second time the Madonna has hit headlines for snogging
a girl on stage - having famously kissed Britney Spears and Christina
Aguilera during a show at the Video Music Awards, in 2003.
Now we've put together a sizzling slideshow of stars in clinches,
which seems to prove that everywhere you look these days there's
a babe kissing another babe at a showbiz bash or a steamy lesbian
scene in a new film or TV drama.
So why are our showbiz stars so obsessed with lesbian chic?
Psychologist
Dr Pam Spurr says it's all motivated by modern a desire to shock
and to gain male attention.
Dr Pam said: "It's amazing how times have changed in only
one decade. Ten years ago a lesbian kiss between two celebrity women
would've been a huge No-No on mainstream TV.
"What was once a big taboo is now seen as merely a touch
risque and shocking - and just plain sexy fun.
"It's viewed as something to tease and tantalise us, but not
harmful. Two big changes are responsible for this - the fact that
we talk about sex so much more and that your sexuality is not such
a big deal. So mimicking a bit of lesbianism isn't shocking.
"In fact it is the most common, male fantasy: being able to
watch two women together and then hoping they'll get to join in."
