£1k gets terror fanatic into UK

Mobster will sell Polish passport to anyone

A RUTHLESS gang of fraudsters is selling genuine POLISH passports to smuggle terrorists into Britain at just £1,000 a go.

The tricksters use AUTHENTIC original documents to give illegal immigrants a FAKE ID but their GENUINE mugshot—exactly the scam used by al-Qaeda bomb maniac Dhiren Barot to cover his tracks.

YOUR SAY: IS THE GOVERNMENT DOING ENOUGH TO CONTROL IMMIGRATION?

Barot (pictured right), 34, is now serving life for plotting massive explosions here and in America. But the News of the World reveals how a new generation of terror fanatics is being helped into the country by a shadowy Ukrainian Mr Fixit, Miron Los, and his henchmen.

As he handed over an authentic Polish passport, plus matching EU driving licence, to our undercover Asian investigator, Los bragged:

"Lots of Afghans have come into Britain with these. We don't give a f*** who you are and the Home Office can do f*** all about it.

"They can't stop a man with a Polish passport. No one can stop you...you're a member of the European Union!"

Our revelations come just days after a sensational House of Lords committee report found that immigration over the last ten years has had "little or no positive impact on living standards" in Britain.

The inquiry headed by Lord Wakeham predicted spiralling tensions and called for a limit on the numbers of LEGAL immigrants coming to Britain. The findings would have been even more damning if the peers had known of the soaring number of ILLEGALS waltzing in unchallenged thanks to burly mobster Los.

The crook supplied our documents just three days after being given passport photos by our man, who was posing as a Pakistani illegal on the run from police. He could easily have been a Muslim extremist but Los didn't care.

As he sat back with a pint at the Red Lion pub in Greenford, west London, along with his master forger sidekick Vladamir, Los admitted: "Afghans, Arabs, Pakistanis, Indians, Ukranians, Russians, everyone is buying these documents to get into the UK.

"It doesn't matter who you are or where you're from. Once you have these Polish documents you can live and work here and travel the world.

"Even illegals already here are buying them because it means they instantly become legal and can work. After a couple of years they can start claiming unemployment benefits. And you get the NHS and free education thrown in!"

Los, a balding man in his 50s who lives in Nottingham, reached under his black leather jacket and pulled out our new passport. It was a bona fide computerised document, number BM2387306, issued in October 2002, valid for ten years with our reporter's photo cunningly swapped for the genuine holder, a Pole called Latas Pawel born in Jedrzejow, 50 miles east of Warsaw, on February 20, 1970.

The new photo was covered by the supposedly "forge-proof" plastic covering, complete with security seals.

Our new fake Polish driving licence was in the same name, with our man's photo, a hologram, and virtually indistinguishable from the genuine article.

Ukrainian forger Vladamir—crop-haired, in his 30s and wearing baseball cap—said: "All you have to do is to memorise your new name and date of birth."

He laughed as he added: "You can travel around the world on the passport but whatever you do, DON'T go to Poland!"

Los bragged how he had made three trips himself to the Ukraine to smuggle in illegal immigrants using the Polish papers.

"I've driven nine men over personally, but loads are coming in on buses," he said.

As he downed a beer Vladamir boasted how he had produced around 200 sets of passports and driving licences. And as our man had been referred to the gang by a Russian underworld contact they offered him a discount deal—even with the dodgy cover story that made him a likely terrorist.

Vladamir said: "The price for the passport and the driving licence together for you is £500.

"It's better to have the passport and the licence together, then you have the full ID. It's normally never less than £1,000." Los explained how the scam works. He said: "Our counterparts on the Ukraine border buy the genuine passports from Poles who don't want to travel. It's easy money for them.

"What it means is you get a genuine document that will check out on any computer records.

"The person in this passport actually exists and for anyone inspecting this passport, you ARE that person."

Vladamir chipped in: "And there's no problem with darker skinned people like you as there are so many Polish gypsies who are very tanned."

He claimed there were many other advantages to gaining instant Polish nationality.

"You can take this passport and walk into any bank, show them it with the driving licence and you can open an account straight away," he said.

"Then go to the DSS and you'll get a national insurance number right away. You'll be legal and safe. Nobody can arrest you."

But despite several UK passports under false identitities, the law did eventually catch up with al-Qaeda terrorist Dhiren Barot, who intended to detonate a radioactive dirty bomb in the UK, plus limos packed with gas cylinders in underground car parks.

His 2006 trial heard he also obtained seven genuine replacement passports by claiming he'd lost them as he roamed the world making deadly plans.

And the Ukrainian gang now putting Britain's security at risk could soon have their collars felt, too.
