Junkie star has lump on cheek

FRAGILE pop drug-addict Amy Winehouse is suffering from a mysterious painful LUMP on her face.

The troubled singer, 24, tried to conceal her swollen, bruised left cheek with make-up as she moved into a new home in East London.

But last night a close friend confirmed the health scare-adding that Amy had made an emergency appointment to see a doctor.

The pal said: "She has suffered some form of skin infection-maybe an allergic reaction."

However News of the World doctor Hilary Jones said: "I think the most likely explanation is a direct blow, either accidental or deliberate. A skin complaint wouldn't cause swelling.

"It could be she's walked into a door or fallen over-which is very likely with her drug habit."

Last night Amy's spokesman told the News of the World: "Amy has been diagnosed with impetigo which she's been told can be highly contagious. Because of that se's been put on antibiotics and may have to stay home alone for the next few days."

Impetigo is an infection of the skin caused by a bacteria which causes a blistered crusty rash. But it does not cause swelling.

Meanwhile we can reveal that record bosses will tomorrow order Winehouse back to rehab.

The chart-topping diva is having a crunch meeting with Universal managers in the afternoon-when they will tell her she HAS to get treatment and this time STICK to it.

Stitches

Amy was in rehab in January after a video showed her smoking deadly crack while high on cocaine, ecstasy and Valium. But she walked out just two weeks later to perform via satellite-link at the Grammys, where she won five awards.

Since then she has spiralled out of control again. Last night it emerged that she COLLAPSED after taking a cocktail of prescribed medication and illegal drugs just last week.

A source said: "All the optimism after the Grammys has gone. Amy is sliding towards oblivion."

Meanwhile Amy's husband Blake Fielder-Civil, 25, has had FIFTY stitches in his arms and legs after self-harming in his cell at Pentonville prison, North London.

A source said: "He madly misses Amy, and it frustrates him that she can't even turn up on time when she visits."
